SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) received a visit from the management of Suara Surabaya Media as part of an effort to strengthen synergy with the media in supporting the delivery of accurate, balanced, and constructive public information, particularly regarding the management of the flow of logistics vehicles in the terminal area.
The visit also provided an opportunity for TTL to introduce the Terminal Booking System (TBS) and Waiting Area, an operational innovation designed to manage the flow of trucks arriving at the terminal in a more orderly, safe, and efficient manner. This innovation is one of the company's steps to mitigate potential freight congestion, both at the terminal access point and in the operational service area.
The Suara Surabaya Media delegation was led by Suara Surabaya Editor-in-Chief, Eddy Prastyo, along with Suara Surabaya Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Restu Indah, and other Suara Surabaya management staff. The group's arrival was welcomed directly by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong President Director, David Pandapotan Sirait, accompanied by Corporate Secretary, Syaiful Anam, TPK Teluk Lamong Terminal Head, Pierre Rochel, TPK Berlian Terminal Head, Burhannudin, and TPK Nilam Operations Support Manager, Fatah Hidayat.
The meeting began with a discussion and introduction session that addressed terminal operational developments, port service transformation, and TTL's various efforts to maintain smooth logistics flows through a digitalization approach and strengthened coordination with stakeholders.
On the occasion, Suara Surabaya Editor-in-Chief, Eddy Prastyo, expressed his appreciation for the welcome given by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong. "We are grateful for the welcome given by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong. This visit began with a discussion with Mr. David. On this occasion, we also introduced the management team of Suara Surabaya Media and their respective functions, while also exchanging views on various synergy opportunities that can be developed in the future," said Eddy.
During the presentation, TTL explained the implementation of the Terminal Booking System, which schedules truck arrivals to the terminal. This system allows for more planned traffic flow management, reducing the potential for vehicle congestion at certain times.
The TBS implementation is supported by the Waiting Area, a facility for truck drivers to wait for their terminal entry schedule in a safer, more orderly, and comfortable manner. The synergy between the TBS and the Waiting Area is part of TTL's strategy to maintain smooth service, increase operational certainty, and mitigate logistics vehicle congestion around the terminal area.
To provide a firsthand overview, the Suara Surabaya Media delegation then reviewed the TBS implementation and Waiting Area management. They also observed how the system supports the smooth operation of terminal activities, from vehicle flow management and terminal entry to container loading and unloading.
Operational Innovation
PT Terminal Teluk Lamong President Director David Pandapotan Sirait stated that the visit was a good opportunity to demonstrate firsthand the various operational innovations implemented by the company. "We welcome Suara Surabaya Media's visit as an opportunity to demonstrate firsthand the implementation of the Terminal Booking System and Waiting Area, which are part of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong's efforts to manage the flow of logistics vehicles to the terminal. Through this innovation, we continue to strive to provide a more orderly, safe, and efficient service, while also providing comfort for our service users," said David.
David added that collaboration with the media plays a crucial role in building public understanding of the port's operational dynamics, including the challenges of managing freight traffic, which require support and shared understanding from various parties. "The media plays a strategic role in conveying objective information to the public. Therefore, we hope that the synergy with Suara Surabaya Media can serve as a strong communication bridge, particularly in educating the public regarding TTL's efforts to support smooth logistics flows and reduce potential freight congestion," David added.
Through this activity, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong hopes the public will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the various operational innovations the company continues to develop to support the smooth flow of national logistics. TTL also continues to open up opportunities for collaboration with various stakeholders, including the media, as strategic partners in building transparent, constructive public communication that positively impacts the logistics ecosystem in East Java and nationally.
