JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 recorded positive operational performance until the second quarter of 2026. Growth occurred in various service indicators, ranging from container flow, non-containerized goods flow, ship flow, and passenger flow.

This achievement demonstrates the increasingly strong role of Pelindo Regional 2 in supporting the smooth running of the national logistics chain and trade activities in its various operational areas.

By the second quarter of 2026, container traffic reached 4.7 million TEUs, an increase of approximately 8 percent compared to the same period the previous year and reaching 102 percent of the RKAP target.

This increase was supported by increased service volume at a number of container terminals, including Koja Container Terminal, JICT, NPCT1, IPC TPK Panjang, and several other terminals.

Positive performance was also reflected in the flow of non-containerized goods, which reached 30.79 million tons, representing a growth of around 19 percent compared to the previous year.

This achievement has exceeded the RKAP target by 109 percent, driven by increased loading and unloading activities of various commodities at a number of ports managed by Pelindo Regional 2.

Meanwhile, the flow of ships was recorded at 31,065 units, with a realization of 101 percent compared to the same period last year.

On the passenger service side, domestic passenger flow reached 785 thousand people, an annual increase of 25 percent and exceeding the RKAP target by 127 percent.

Executive Director 2 of Pelindo Regional 2, Budi Prasetio, said that this achievement was the result of Pelindo's ongoing efforts to improve service quality, strengthen infrastructure, and maintain operational reliability across all work areas.

"This growth demonstrates the continued growth in user trust in Pelindo's services. We are committed to maintaining reliable service through operational strengthening, digitalization, and increasing facility capacity to meet evolving logistics needs," Budi said in a written statement.

According to him, the increase in traffic not only reflects improving port activities, but is also an indicator of growing economic activity in the operational area of Pelindo Regional 2.

"Ports play a strategic role as logistics hubs. Therefore, any increase in service productivity will impact the smooth distribution of goods, the efficiency of logistics costs, and increased regional and national competitiveness," he added.

In addition to recording traffic growth, Pelindo Regional 2 also continues to encourage increased productivity in ship and loading and unloading services.

This is reflected in the increase in the Box Ship Hour (BS/H) indicator at a number of container terminals, which indicates that the loading and unloading process is increasingly efficient, thus speeding up ship service times at the port.

Going forward, Pelindo Regional 2 will continue to strengthen service transformation through infrastructure modernization, business process digitalization, and collaboration with all stakeholders.

This step is expected to maintain the performance growth trend while supporting the realization of a more efficient, integrated, and competitive national logistics system.
