Pelindo Regional 2 Banten Plants 250 Trees, Strengthening Commitment to Sustainability

CILEGON BANTEN (ISL News) - In commemoration of World Environment Day 2026, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten together with Kecamatan Ciwandan  and Kelurahan Kepuh planted 250 trees in the operational area of ​​Ciwandan Port and the surrounding area on Tuesday (30/6/2026). This activity is a concrete manifestation of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten's commitment to supporting environmental conservation through collaboration with stakeholders to create a green, beautiful, and sustainable environment.


The event was attended by the management of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, the Ciwandan Sub-district Head, the Kepuh Village Head, and student representatives who participated in the reforestation effort. This collaboration reflects the synergy between the company, stakeholders, and the younger generation in fostering environmental awareness and promoting sustainable development.


The series of activities began with remarks from the General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, who emphasized the importance of environmental protection as a shared responsibility. Next, a symbolic tree planting was carried out by the management of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, along with the Ciwandan Sub-district Head and the Kepuh Village Head. This was followed by a tree planting ceremony by all participants in the port's operational area and surrounding areas.


On that occasion, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, conveyed that sustainability is an inseparable part of the company's efforts to provide responsible port services and provide benefits to the environment and society.


"Pelindo Regional 2 Banten believes that sustainability is not only realized through reliable port operations, but also through real contributions to the environment and communities around our work areas. Through this tree planting action, we want to demonstrate that collaboration between companies, stakeholders, academics, and the community can be a real step in maintaining environmental sustainability. We hope that the trees planted today can provide long-term benefits and become a symbol of our shared commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable environment," said Benny Ariadi.


A total of 250 trees were planted in the Ciwandan Port operational area, as well as in the Ciwandan District and Kepuh Village as part of a reforestation effort expected to provide long-term environmental benefits. In addition to beautifying the area, the tree planting is also expected to improve air quality, maintain ecosystem balance, and create a healthier and more comfortable environment for the community.


Through the momentum of World Environment Day, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten emphasized that environmental preservation is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration from all stakeholders. The company will continue to promote various sustainability programs that not only support environmentally friendly port operations but also provide added value to the communities surrounding its operational areas.
