TANJUNG PANDAN (ISL News) — The Tanjung Pandan branch of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Non-container) continues to demonstrate positive operational performance, supporting the smooth flow of logistics in the Bangka Belitung Islands. As one of the strategic ports in the archipelago, this branch plays a crucial role in supporting the distribution of goods and supporting regional economic activity.

The Tanjung Pandan Port holds a crucial position in the inter-island logistics chain, particularly in serving the distribution needs of commodities in the Bangka Belitung region and its surroundings. Given its archipelagic nature, this port serves as a key hub in ensuring a smooth supply of goods.

"We continue to strive to improve operational performance and service quality to support customer logistics needs and regional economic growth," said PTP Non-Container Branch Manager, Tanjung Pandan Branch, Asep Mardiyana.

Operationally, the Tanjung Pandan Branch serves a wide range of commodities, predominantly in general cargo packaging, such as iron, electricity poles, piles, ceramics, and kaolin in cargo bags. Furthermore, the branch also handles dry bulk commodities such as palm kernel shells, splits, and palm kernels. Operations are supported by adequate port facilities and loading and unloading equipment, ensuring effective and efficient operations.

*Operational Performance Achievements*

Until April 2026, the realization of Ton/Ship/Day (T/S/D) productivity in several main packages served recorded achievements above the target and grew compared to the same period the previous year. In general cargo packaging, productivity reached 2,511 T/S/D, exceeding the target by 25% from the target of 2,008 T/S/D, while growing 68.1% compared to the realization until April 2025 of 1,494 T/S/D. Meanwhile, in bag cargo packaging, productivity was recorded at 752 T/S/D, or 24.1% above the target of 606 T/S/D, and increased 56.0% compared to the achievement until April 2025 of 482 T/S/D. This achievement reflects increased operational effectiveness and optimization of the loading and unloading process at the Tanjung Pandan Branch.

PTP Non-container Tanjung Pandan Branch recorded a solid throughput achievement of 168.06 thousand tons, where bag cargo packaging remained the main contributor with a realization of 152.3 thousand tons, while general cargo packaging recorded a growth of 12.6% to 12.9 thousand tons compared to the same period the previous year of 10.2 thousand tons.

This surge in productivity was driven by increased loading and unloading activities as well as the implementation of operational standardization and digital-based service systemization through the PTOS-M platform.

"This performance is the result of the entire team's commitment to maintaining productivity and providing the best service to customers," said Asep.

To support smooth loading and unloading operations, the Tanjung Pandan Branch is equipped with adequate infrastructure and operational facilities. These facilities include nine functional dock areas capable of serving general cargo and bulk vessels, an open stacking yard for various types of commodities, and a storage warehouse for specific goods requiring protection.

In addition, operations are supported by loading and unloading equipment such as one chassis, one head truck, one 5-ton forklift, and one 10-ton forklift, as well as other auxiliary equipment to enhance efficiency and expedite service. The availability of these facilities is crucial for maintaining the productivity and reliability of port services.

With the support of continuously improving facilities and performance, the Tanjung Pandan Branch is further strengthening its role as a mainstay port in supporting commodity distribution and economic growth in the archipelago region.

Going forward, the Tanjung Pandan Branch will continue to improve its service capacity and operational quality to strengthen its position as a strategic logistics hub in the Bangka Belitung Islands region and support national economic growth.
