SURABAYA (ISL News) – PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the strengthening of the national logistics ecosystem by holding a Strategic Discussion Forum with the East Java Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (DPW ALFI/ILFA).

The activity, which took place on Wednesday (10/6/2026), served as a forum for constructive dialogue between terminal operators and logistics business players to discuss various opportunities to improve service efficiency and strengthen East Java's logistics competitiveness.

The forum, attended by the management of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong and the management of the East Java ALFI/ILFA DPW, discussed various strategic issues facing the logistics industry, while also evaluating various service transformation programs that have been implemented by TTL.

As one of the largest modern container terminals in Eastern Indonesia, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong recorded a consolidated container flow of 2.19 million TEUs throughout 2025. This achievement reflects the high level of trust among service users in the quality of TTL services while strengthening the company's role as a key node in the national and international supply chain.

On that occasion, TTL outlined several service transformations that have been implemented to improve terminal operational efficiency. One such initiative is the implementation of the Truck Booking System (TBS) Stage 2, which began in March 2026, which regulates truck arrivals based on four-hour operational time slots. This system more evenly distributes vehicle traffic, optimizing terminal equipment utilization and reducing potential congestion in gate areas and stacking yards.

As part of its digital transformation and customer service improvement efforts, TTL also introduced a Green Shelter Waiting Area capable of accommodating up to 66 trucks. The facility features a prayer room, restrooms, a clinic, a safety induction room, and complimentary refreshments for drivers to use while waiting for their scheduled service. This facility contributes to the smooth operation of the terminal and enhances the comfort of its customers.

Furthermore, to anticipate growing container traffic and increasing logistics needs, TTL is continuously optimizing its stacking yard capacity by reorganizing and developing more effective yard layouts. This step aims to maximize terminal area utilization without compromising the smoothness of loading and unloading processes, while also accelerating the flow of goods and reducing dwell times.

In the forum, the East Java ALFI/ILFA DPW also provided a number of constructive inputs, including improving slot arrangements in the TBS system, optimizing the truck arrival time tolerance policy, providing information on Yard Occupancy Ratio (YOR) conditions, developing a notification feature for service users when trucks enter the terminal area, and accelerating the physical inspection process and import documents involving relevant stakeholders.

Best Customer Consultant

Responding to the various inputs, the President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, David P. Sirait, emphasized that all proposals will be an important part of the evaluation process and future service development.

"Thank you for all the input you've provided. For us, customers are our best consultants. We will follow up on all suggestions through review and evaluation with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation, benefit service users, and remain aligned with operational needs and applicable policies," said David.

Furthermore, David emphasized that the success of logistics service transformation cannot be achieved by one party alone, but requires strong collaboration between terminal operators, regulators, logistics business actors, shipping companies, and service user associations.

"Sustainable service transformation can only be realized through strong synergy among all stakeholders. Therefore, collaboration and input from ALFI/ILFA are strategically valuable for us to continue delivering service innovations that can improve logistics efficiency, strengthen port competitiveness, and provide added value to the business world and the national economy," he added.

Appreciation

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the East Java ALFI/ILFA DPW, Sebastian Wibisono, expressed his appreciation for the various strategic steps taken by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong in improving the quality of port and logistics services.

According to him, TTL management's openness in receiving input and building constructive communication with logistics business actors is an important foundation in creating sustainable service improvements.

"We see a real commitment from PT Terminal Teluk Lamong to improving efficiency and service quality, from implementing the Truck Booking System, providing Green Shelter Waiting Areas, to optimizing the capacity of the stacking yard. It is crucial to continue holding forums like this regularly as a means of evaluation and joint coordination. With closer collaboration, we are optimistic that East Java's logistics ecosystem will become more resilient, competitive, and capable of becoming one of the main drivers of Indonesia's economic growth," said Sebastian Wibisono.

This discussion forum is part of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong's ongoing commitment to building an increasingly integrated, efficient, and highly competitive logistics ecosystem through active collaboration with all stakeholders.
