PALEMBANG (ISL News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang held a social and religious activity, including a Social and Religious Activity and Orphanage Assistance at the Nurul Ikhlas Mosque, Boom Baru Port, Palembang. This activity demonstrates the company's commitment to strengthening social values while enhancing togetherness and spirituality in the workplace.
Twenty -five orphans from three orphanages in Palembang received assistance distributed through Pelindo's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program . This activity was carried out simultaneously across all Pelindo Regional and Branch offices in Indonesia as a joint effort to request safety, security, smooth operations, and protection for all Pelindo employees and port activities.
Also present at the event were the Chairman of the Center for Islamic Propagation Development (PPDI) Regional 2 Palembang, Chairman of the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) Nurul Ikhlas, Daily Executive Chairman of the PIP Unit Palembang Regional 2, management of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, and workers.
The series of events began with remarks from the Acting General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, represented by the Finance and HR Manager, Saripudin , followed by a sermon delivered by Ustad Nur Hidayat, C.Tr.Q. , and a joint prayer for the safety and blessings of the company.
In his remarks, Saripudin said that the charity activity was a form of corporate concern as part of the implementation of social care values that Pelindo continues to maintain.
"We are carrying out this orphan assistance program as a form of Pelindo's social concern for the community, especially the orphans living in our operational areas. We hope this assistance will be beneficial, bring happiness, and be a blessing to all parties involved," said Saripudin.
On that occasion, Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang handed over cash assistance of Rp200,000 to each of the 35 orphans from the Al Ittihad Orphanage, Insanul Karim Orphanage, and Amanah Orphanage . The handover of aid was carried out symbolically by the Finance and HR Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang together with the Daily Executive Chairman of the PIP Unit Palembang Regional 2, the ranks of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang Managers, the Chairman of PPDI Regional 2 Palembang, and the Chairman of the Nurul Ikhlas Mosque Prosperity Council.
Through this activity, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang reaffirmed its commitment to continuously presenting CSR programs that provide tangible benefits to the community.
