JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas), part of the Pelindo Group, has begun implementing terminalization-based operational services at several branches to improve service effectiveness, expand market share, and drive revenue growth from stevedoring, cargodoring, and stacking. Through this strategy, PTP Nonpetikemas is developing commodity-based terminals, particularly liquid bulk and dry bulk, to ensure more focused and productive operational services.

The terminalization strategy will be implemented by PTP Non-Container starting in December 2025 by grouping terminals and docks based on commodity characteristics.

The development of liquid bulk and dry bulk terminals is part of Pelindo's efforts to optimize the utilization of port assets through the dedicated terminal concept implemented by PTP Nonpetikemas, namely a terminal specifically designed to handle one type of commodity to increase loading and unloading efficiency, ensure certainty of ship berthing (zero waiting time), maintain the quality and safety of commodities, and optimize the supply chain of service user companies.

Director of Commercial and Business Development and Director of Operations of PTP Non-Container, Dwi Rahmad Toto S., said that terminalization is carried out by grouping terminals and docks based on commodity characteristics so that services can run more focused, effective, and productive.

"The implementation of this terminalization is a crucial step in strengthening PTP Non-Container's position in the bulk segment. Our focus is to ensure operational services are increasingly competitive, provide added value to customers, and support the company's sustainable growth through optimized port services," said Toto.

Currently, PTP Nonpetikemas has determined the terminalization status at three strategic operational branches, namely the Liquid Bulk Terminal at Pier 4 of the Banten Branch, the Dry Bulk Terminal at Pier 2 of the Banten Branch, the Dry Bulk Terminal at Pier I of the Palembang Branch, and the Dry Bulk Terminal at the Conveyor Pier of the Jambi Branch.

In the future, the company is also preparing for further terminalization development for the Dry Bulk Terminal at the Cirebon Branch and the Liquid Bulk Terminal at the Pangkal Balam Branch as well as the Dry Bulk Terminal at the Ketapang Terminal, Pangkal Balam Branch to strengthen the capacity of commodity-based services in the PTP Non-container operational area.

SM Corporate Secretary of PTP Nonpetikemas, Fiona Sari Utami, added that terminalization is part of the company's operational transformation in supporting the strengthening of port service standards within the Pelindo Group and increasing the competitiveness of national multipurpose terminals.

"Grouping terminals based on commodity characteristics allows the company to provide more focused, efficient, and integrated services. This is part of an effort to improve service standards and the competitiveness of terminals under the Pelindo Group, while also strengthening the foundation for the company's future business development," said Fiona.

As part of the Pelindo Group and a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal, PTP Nonpetikemas is committed to providing reliable, efficient, and competitive port services to support the smooth running of the national supply chain.
