JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, June 11, 2026) – IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) has once again strengthened international logistics connectivity through the inaugural service of Gold Star Line's South China Indonesia Service at International Operations Terminal 3, Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta.
The MV AS Carolina became the first vessel ( maiden voyage ) of the service to dock at IPC TPK on Monday (June 8) at 9:30 p.m. WIB. This service connects several major ports in South China, namely Yantian, Xiamen, and Nansha, with Jakarta and Surabaya as distribution hubs in Indonesia.
Acting Director of Commercial and Business Development at IPC TPK, Yanuar Evyanto, stated that the new service is part of strengthening the intra-Asian logistics network, which continues to grow in line with increasing regional trade activity. "IPC TPK continues to ensure the readiness of infrastructure, terminal facilities, and the reliability of operational services to provide efficient, safe, and timely services for global shipping companies and service users," Yanuar said.
The MV AS Carolina is a Portuguese-flagged container ship with a length overall (LOA) of 222 meters and a beam of 30 meters. In its maiden service at IPC TPK, the ship successfully completed the loading and unloading of 1,209 boxes .
The South China Indonesia Service expands Indonesia's direct connectivity with key industrial areas in Southern China, a global manufacturing hub. This service is expected to provide a more competitive distribution alternative while simultaneously supporting a smooth supply chain for national businesses. Previously, IPC TPK also served X-Press Feeders' South China Java X-Press (SCJX), which connects to the Southern China region. This new service reflects the high level of trade activity and the growing need for logistics connectivity between Indonesia and China.
With 24/7 operational support and enhanced digitalization of port services, IPC TPK is optimistic about accommodating the growing bilateral trade flows between Indonesia and China.
"We hope this service can operate sustainably and make a positive contribution to the smooth flow of goods, strengthening trade between the two countries, and increasing national logistics competitiveness," Yanuar concluded.
