SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) held a public lecture on " Internal Control Over Financial Reporting," delivered by Sapto Wasono Soebagio, Director of Finance, Human Resources, and Risk Management at TPS, to students of the Accounting Program at Airlangga University (UNAIR). The event took place on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the TPS Office in Surabaya.
In the public lecture, Sapto Wasono Soebagio shared a deep understanding of the importance of internal control systems in ensuring the reliability of a company's financial reports. He emphasized that internal control is a crucial element in maintaining transparency and accountability, as well as supporting the implementation of good corporate governance.
"A solid understanding of internal control over financial reporting is crucial for aspiring accountants. Effective internal controls not only help prevent errors and fraud but also ensure that financial reports can be relied upon as a basis for decision-making," said Sapto.
This activity provides students with the opportunity to gain firsthand insights from industry practitioners and understand the application of accounting and internal control concepts in a real-world work environment. Interactive discussions also feature in this session, where students actively ask questions about the challenges of implementing control systems in companies.
