JAKARTA (ISL News) - IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) recorded a cumulative growth of 6.1 percent in container traffic until May 2026, with a total throughput of 1,492,721 TEUs, an increase compared to the same period last year of 1,406,875 TEUs.
Meanwhile, in May 2026 alone, IPC TPK recorded operational growth of 4 percent, with total container throughput reaching 333,146 TEUs, compared to 320,109 TEUs in May 2025. This increase aligns with increased international trade and goods distribution activity approaching mid-year.
IPC TPK Corporate Secretariat Senior Manager, Daniel Setiawan, said that the readiness of operational facilities and services is a crucial factor in maintaining the smooth flow of logistics amidst increasing container traffic.
"Increased logistics activity during May 2026 will drive the optimization of terminal services across IPC TPK's work areas. Operational readiness is key to ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient flow of goods," said Daniel.
Traffic growth was evenly distributed across the company's various operational areas. In May 2026, the Panjang area recorded the highest growth at 18.8 percent, followed by the Jambi area at 15.4 percent. Meanwhile, the Tanjung Priok 1 and Tanjung Priok 2 areas grew by 5.5 percent and 5.8 percent, respectively, compared to the same period the previous year.
Cumulatively until May 2026, Tanjung Priok Area 1 was the area with the highest growth of 9.7 percent, followed by Panjang Area at 7.4 percent, Tanjung Priok Area 2 at 5.6 percent, Pontianak Area at 3 percent, and Jambi Area at 1.1 percent.
The company's success in maintaining this growth trend is also supported by its strategic move to expand international shipping connectivity. In May 2026, IPC TPK officially launched X-Press Feeders' new South China Java X-Press (SCJX) service, connecting Indonesia with the South China region. The launch of this service reflects the high level of trade activity and the growing need for logistics connectivity between Indonesia and China.
The growth in IPC TPK traffic is also in line with national trade performance, which continues to show a positive trend. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's export value reached US$92.15 billion from January to April 2026, representing a 5.48 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.
IPC TPK will continue to strengthen service efficiency, operational readiness, and shipping connectivity to support the smooth running of the national supply chain and the growth of international trade.
"Through consistent improvements in service quality and operational excellence, IPC TPK is optimistic that it can continue to make a positive contribution to the national logistics ecosystem and all its service partners," Daniel concluded.
