JAMBI INDONESIA (ISL News) — PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) Jambi Branch continues to strengthen its role in supporting the smooth flow of logistics and commodity distribution in Jambi and the surrounding region. This effort is being carried out through improving operational performance, optimizing services, and strengthening synergies with stakeholders.
As one of the multipurpose ports in Sumatra, PTP Nonpetikemas Jambi Branch is strategically positioned to support the distribution of various commodities, particularly dry bulk and general cargo. With its geographical advantages and connections to the industrial hinterland, this port is a crucial node in the regional supply chain.

In its operational activities, PTP Nonpetikemas Jambi Branch serves various types of cargo, ranging from dry bulk cargo such as coal and clinker to general cargo such as construction materials and heavy equipment. Support from multipurpose dock facilities, a stacking yard, and warehouses are crucial to ensuring smooth loading and unloading processes.
Operational Performance of PTP NonPetikemas Jambi Branch
Throughout 2025, the Jambi Branch of PTP Nonpetikemas recorded a throughput of 1.55 million tons/m³, a 30% increase compared to the previous year's 1.193 million tons/m³. This performance reflects increased logistics activity in the Jambi region. Compositionally, the largest contribution came from liquid bulk at 1.23 million tons, followed by bag cargo at 244,000 tons, dry bulk at 65,000 tons, and general cargo at 11,000 tons.
Furthermore, operational productivity also showed significant improvement. The Ton Ship Day (TSD) value for dry bulk increased 14% year-on-year, from 1,663 to 1,896, indicating increased operational efficiency in supporting the accelerated flow of goods.
In the first quarter of 2026, throughput was recorded at 388.7 thousand tons/m³, a 3.81% increase compared to 374.4 thousand tons/m³ in the same period the previous year. This growth was driven by the contribution of bag cargo of 72.9 thousand tons/m³ (up from 48.3 thousand tons/m³) and liquid bulk of 313.3 thousand tons/m³ (up from 284 thousand tons/m³), demonstrating a consistent increase in logistics activity in the Jambi region.

Infrastructure Support and Operational Areas
PTP Petikemas Jambi Branch has two main operational areas: Talang Duku and Muara Sabak. Both locations play a crucial role in supporting logistics distribution, with Muara Sabak Port recognized as one of the most efficient ports in the Jambi region.
Facilities include a ferrocement dock, a conveyor jetty, and an ocean-going dock, as well as a stacking yard of over 60,000 m² and a warehouse with a capacity of up to 3,000 tons. Supported equipment such as mobile cranes, forklifts, conveyors, excavators, and wheel loaders also contribute to smooth operations.
Specifically, Talang Duku Port has a 281.9-meter-long dock with a 60,543-square-meter stacking yard, and operational facilities including one conveyor, one wheel loader, three excavators, and two weighbridges. Muara Sabak Port, on the other hand, has a 100-meter-long dock with a 2,533-square-meter stacking yard.
