JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) - IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) opened the second quarter of 2026 with improved operational performance. Throughput throughput reached 1,159,575 TEUs as of April 2026, a 6.7% increase compared to 1,086,766 TEUs in the same period last year.
The increase in IPC TPK throughput aligns with the national trade growth trend. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that Indonesia's import value grew 10.05% annually from January to March 2026, while the national trade balance still recorded a surplus of US$5.55 billion.
On the other hand, amidst the ongoing challenges facing the global supply chain, including rising logistics costs and uncertainty in international shipping routes due to escalating conflicts in the Middle East, these conditions have impacted global shipping activity and prompted adjustments to several international maritime routes. Nevertheless, IPC TPK continues to maintain service reliability and operational efficiency to ensure the smooth flow of goods.
IPC TPK Corporate Secretariat Senior Manager, Daniel Setiawan, said the company continues to maintain service optimization and operational efficiency to support smooth national logistics distribution.
"We continue to optimize and optimize our services to ensure the smooth flow of goods and maintain national logistics competitiveness," Daniel said.
On a year-on-year basis, performance increased significantly in April 2026, reaching 26.78% compared to the previous year. In April 2026, operational performance reached 308,810 TEUs, a significant increase compared to 243,579 TEUs in April 2025.
The highest increases occurred in the Tanjung Priok area, particularly in the IPC TPK Tanjung Priok Area 2, which grew 36.7%, and Tanjung Priok Area 1, which grew 24.3%. This growth was driven by additional ad hoc services and increased volumes from several shipping lines .
Meanwhile, the IPC TPK Palembang Area also recorded growth of 18.7% along with increasing export and import activities of a number of commodities such as rubber , wood products , coconut , and metal boxes .
Amidst the growing flow of containers, IPC TPK continues to strengthen its strategic initiatives across its various operational areas. In April 2026, IPC TPK Teluk Bayur, along with PTP Non-Petikemas Teluk Bayur Branch, established a synergy in utilizing docks and loading and unloading equipment to support smooth logistics services in West Sumatra.
Meanwhile, the Jambi Area IPC TPK also supports the smooth export of cinnamon by optimizing services at the Talang Duku Port Container Terminal to expand international market access for the region's leading commodity.
According to Daniel, the company will continue to focus on maintaining operational stability and infrastructure readiness to anticipate future dynamics in the logistics industry.
"We continue to strengthen infrastructure readiness and standardize services across all terminals to ensure the smooth flow of goods amidst the ever-evolving dynamics of global logistics," Daniel concluded.
