SURABAYA (ISL News) - PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) once again collaborated with the Infaq Management Institute (LMI) for the Eid al-Adha commemoration on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. This collaboration, which has been in place for four consecutive years, demonstrates both parties' strong commitment to expanding their social impact through the Qurbani (sacrificial animal) program.
Approximately 2,000 packages of sacrificial meat were distributed to partners and the community surrounding the TPS operational area. This activity is part of the company's consistent implementation of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program.
Corporate Secretary, Erika A. Palupi, said that the implementation of the sacrifice is one form of the company's social contribution, especially in strengthening relations with the community and work partners.
"In addition to distributing around 2,000 packages of sacrificial meat to partners, TPS also handed over sacrificial animals to several parties, such as Tajungan Village in Madura, Tanjung Perak Police, Kodiklatal and Perak Barat Subdistrict," he said.
He added that TPS also ensures that all sacrificial animals provided have undergone health checks by the authorities before slaughter.
"The suitability, cleanliness, and quality of the meat are our primary concerns, ensuring that all packages distributed are safe and suitable for consumption by the beneficiaries," he said.
Furthermore, the TPS ensures that the entire qurban process is carried out in accordance with Islamic law. This begins with the careful selection of the sacrificial animal, followed by the slaughtering process by a certified Halal Slaughterer (JULEHA), ensuring that the sacrificial meat distributed is halal for consumption. A JULEHA is a certified individual or professional who is specially trained to slaughter livestock in accordance with Islamic law, resulting in meat that meets the ASUH (Safe, Healthy, Whole, and Halal) principles.
Meanwhile, Ozi Riyanto, a representative of the LMI (Indonesian Muslim Community) qurban committee, praised TPS's consistency in fostering social synergy. He stated that this collaboration is not only beneficial from a partnership perspective but also strengthens humanitarian solidarity.
"We hope this partnership will continue to thrive and serve as motivation to carry out similar activities in the future," he said.
One of the beneficiaries, TPS cleaning service officer, Husni, expressed his gratitude for the attention and appreciation given by TPS management.
