BANDAR LAMPUNG (ISL News) — Indonesian Port Authority (Pelindo) Regional 2 Panjang has again recorded an important milestone in supporting regional export growth through the release of its first export of tapioca flour to China.
This export is part of Lampung Province's efforts to strengthen the downstreaming of agricultural products. Cassava is a leading commodity that has penetrated export markets in various countries in Asia and elsewhere. In addition to China, this commodity is also planned to continue being exported to several countries with which it has established trade partnerships and negotiations to absorb Lampung's agricultural products.
A total of 3,330 tons of tapioca flour, valued at approximately Rp26 billion, was shipped through Panjang Port. The export was handled by CV Intan Group, a partner company of Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang.
The event was attended by Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, accompanied by Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Helfi Assegaf, SIK, MH, and members of the Lampung Provincial Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda). Also in attendance were representatives from maritime and port agencies, including the Quarantine Office, the Class I Panjang Port Authority (KSOP), the Sumbagbar Regional Customs Office, and the Panjang Regional Port Maritime Association (APJII).
In the series of events, the opening remarks were given by Intan Group CEO Jeremy Gozal, who expressed his appreciation for the support of all parties in realizing this first export.
"This initial export is a strategic step for us to expand our international market, particularly to China. We are optimistic that our tapioca flour products from Lampung are of a quality that can compete in the global market," he said.
Furthermore, the Indonesian Deputy for Quarantine, represented by Acting Deputy for Plant Quarantine, Drama Panca Putra, emphasized the commitment to ensuring the quality and safety of export commodities.
"We ensure that all quarantine processes, for both fish and plant commodities, meet the standards and requirements of the destination countries, ensuring that exported products are safe, healthy, and highly competitive," he explained.
Key Players
In his remarks, the Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, stated that this export is concrete evidence of the strength of the region's superior commodities.
"This export launch demonstrates Lampung's potential to become a significant player in international trade. The Lampung Provincial Government will continue to promote convenience and support for businesses to further increase exports," said the Governor.
Commitment
Meanwhile, Hardianto, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang, emphasized Pelindo's commitment to supporting the smooth flow of logistics and export activities.
"As the port manager and owner of the land where this activity will take place, Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang is committed to providing the best possible service to ensure a smooth export process. Synergy between stakeholders is key to driving regional economic growth through the logistics sector," said Hardianto.
This export launch is expected to be a sustainable first step in expanding Lampung's commodity export market, particularly tapioca flour, and strengthening Panjang Port's role as a key logistics gateway in the southern Sumatra region.
This activity ended with the symbolic handover of the Phytosanitary Certificate and the handover of the Export Service Note (NPE) and was followed by the "breaking of the jug" carried out by the Governor of Lampung and all the participants present.
