JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, April 20, 2026) — The Tanjung Priok Class I Sea and Coast Guard Base (PLP) received a visit from the In-House Training Field Work Practice (PKL) for Marine Transportation with a total of 61 participants who were Inspectorate General Auditors, this activity was a collaboration between the Inspectorate General and the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Monday (20/4).
This activity is part of a strategic program to increase the capacity of the government's internal supervisory apparatus in strengthening governance, supervision, and public services in the maritime transportation sector.
The activity was attended by a number of high-ranking officials within the Ministry of Transportation, including:

2. Dra. Retno Wijayanti, M.,Si— Secretary of the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Transportation
3. Dr. Ir. Ahmad, M.MTr., QIA., CFrA., CGRE — Inspector III, Ministry of Transportation
4. Dr. Triono, S.Pel., MM — Acting Director of the Marine and Coast Guard Unit (KPLP)
5. Wahyu Sunyoto Hadi Adi, S.IP., MT, CHRM. — Head of the Human Resources Division of the Inspectorate General
6. Hanif Kartika Yudha, S.Sos., M.MTr. — Head of Human Resources, Directorate General of Sea Transportation
7. Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH — Head of Class I Tanjung Priok PLP Base
And attended by representatives from the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Transportation and the ranks of the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base.
In his remarks, the Head of the Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base, Fourmansyah, SH, MM, MH, said that this activity was an important momentum in bridging the gap between policy, regulatory, and operational implementation aspects in the field.
"Through this activity, participants not only gain conceptual understanding but also can see firsthand how maritime safety monitoring, maritime law enforcement, and state patrol vessel operations are carried out in real-life situations," said Fourmansyah.
It was further stated that KPLP has a strategic role as a representation of the state's presence at sea, with the main mandate including monitoring the safety and security of shipping, law enforcement in the shipping sector, carrying out search and rescue (SAR), and protecting the maritime environment from pollution.
This role is a real implementation of Indonesia's commitment as a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), in implementing international provisions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW.
As part of the activity, the participants conducted a field visit to the KPLP's state patrol vessels, namely the KN. Damaru P.214 Patrol Vessel & the KN. 348 Patrol Vessel.
This visit provided a direct overview of the readiness of operational facilities and infrastructure to support guarding, surveillance, and law enforcement activities at sea.
Participants also gained practical understanding of the operational systems of maritime patrols, cross-agency coordination, and rapid response to emergency situations in the waters.
This activity aims to improve the practical understanding of the apparatus regarding maritime transportation operations, strengthen synergy between the Inspectorate General as an internal supervisor with technical units, and support the strengthening of good governance.
By improving the competence of the apparatus and strengthening cross-unit coordination, it is hoped that it will be able to encourage more professional, transparent and accountable public services, improve the safety and security of national shipping, and realize orderly and sustainable maritime transportation.
The Tanjung Priok Class I PLP Base remains committed to supporting the improvement of human resources, strengthening the maritime transportation monitoring system, maintaining shipping safety and protecting the maritime environment.
"The most important thing is not just the organizational structure, but how real the KPLP's presence is in Indonesian waters," Fourmansyah emphasized.
Through this activity, it is hoped that harmony will be created between the supervisory function and operational implementation in the field, thereby strengthening the national maritime transportation system to be safe, secure, and sustainable.
