SURABAYA (ISL News, 4/21/2026) – In commemoration of Kartini Day, PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) held an event titled “The Beauty of Kartini TPS” on Tuesday (4/21) at the TPS Office. This event is part of a self-development program for female workers in various roles, both within the family, the community, and professional roles as working women. Furthermore, the event, which was attended by 50 female TPS workers, was also held to strengthen the bond between female TPS workers.
Carrying the spirit of " Out of Darkness Comes Light ," TPS interprets R.A. Kartini's struggle as courage, demonstrated calmly and consistently, to open access to education for Indonesian women. This value is considered relevant today, as Indonesian women have increasingly broad opportunities to play an active role in various aspects of life, including their professional journeys within the TPS environment.
Along with their various roles, TPS female workers—known as Kartinis TPS—are present in a wide range of activities, from carrying out daily responsibilities, leading work teams, to representing the company in public spaces. In each of these roles, the presence of Kartinis TPS is expected to leave a positive message as empowered individuals and company ambassadors who uphold the values of mutual empowerment, appreciation, and respect.
This message is reflected in the way Kartini TPS presents itself fully ( show up ), communicates constructively ( speak up ), and provides meaning and usefulness ( stand out ) in every environment and opportunity. These principles are the common thread in this year's Kartini Day commemoration at TPS.
As part of a series of activities, TPS held a makeup skills training activity. This activity aimed to encourage TPS Kartinis to always appear clean and neat as a form of respect for themselves, their colleagues, and their communication counterparts in every professional interaction.
Through a balanced self-development approach between personal and professional aspects, TPS hopes that TPS Kartini can grow as a complete person, be in a mutually supportive work environment, and ultimately be able to contribute sustainably to the company's journey to achieve various achievements, both now and in the future.
TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika Palupi, said that the commemoration of Kartini Day at TPS is not just a ceremony, but a reflection of values and work behaviors that are relevant to current professional challenges.
" The spirit of RA Kartini teaches us the courage to pave the way with awareness, composure, and consistency. We reflect these values in the role of Kartini TPS as a fully present female worker, courageously expressing ideas constructively, and able to contribute and provide meaning in every role she undertakes ," said Erika.
He added that each TPS Kartini is a representation of the company in various situations and interactions.
" We align self-confidence building, including through simple skills like professional makeup, with various other capacity-building programs. We hope that TPS Kartinis can grow into well-rounded individuals who are always ready to contribute optimally to supporting TPS's sustainability and future achievements ," Erika concluded.
