JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, March 18, 2026) – IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) ensures full operational readiness by providing 24/7 loading and unloading services at all terminals, in anticipation of a surge in container traffic ahead of Eid al-Fitr while also supporting government policies regarding restrictions on freight transport during the homecoming period.
This step was taken in line with the increase in national logistics activity, particularly in the domestic segment, which began to show a significant escalation entering the third week of Ramadan. At Domestic Container Terminal 2 (TP2), activity surged by approximately 37.5% compared to the previous week, driven by increased throughput and vessel call frequency, which also affected the Yard Occupancy Ratio (YOR).
IPC TPK Corporate Secretary, Pramestie Wulandary, stated that this increase in container flow had been anticipated through the strengthening of an integrated and responsive operational system.
"We fully support the government's policy of regulating restrictions on freight transport during the homecoming period. To that end, IPC TPK ensures that loading and unloading services continue to run optimally 24/7, supported by intensive monitoring and the readiness of operational personnel at all levels," Pramestie said.
To maintain the smooth flow of logistics and avoid congestion in the port area, IPC TPK implemented a number of strategic mitigation measures. These include optimizing gate pass services, utilizing the Line 2 stacking yard as a buffer for Line 1, collaborating with several supporting container depots around Tanjung Priok, and strengthening traffic management and safety control functions by deploying Port Facility Security Officers (PFSOs) at queue-prone points.
With the planned implementation of freight transport restrictions from March 13 to 29, IPC TPK projects an acceleration in customer delivery activities before the period begins.
Therefore, the company is actively encouraging service users to expedite container pickups for unloading at depots around North Jakarta to avoid potential post-Eid congestion.
"Accelerating deliveries before the restriction period is key to maintaining a smooth supply chain. With synergy between terminal operators, regulators, and service users, we are optimistic that the national logistics flow will remain well maintained during the Eid period," Pramestie concluded.
IPC TPK also continues to strengthen coordination with the Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP), relevant agencies, and shipping companies to ensure synchronized ship arrival schedules and smooth container flow across all terminals.
