SURABAYA INDONESIA (ISL News, March 16, 2026)  – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), through PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP), is providing 4,030 free bus seats for the public under the "Mudik Asyik Bersama BUMN 2026" program, with routes to various cities on the island of Java. Of these, 350 seats are in East Java, namely Madiun, Jember, and Trenggalek.

The ceremonial release of homecoming participants was held at the Gapura Surya Nusantara (GSN) Passenger Terminal, Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, Monday (16/3/2026).

Corporate Secretary of PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, Widyaswendra, said that although the number of free homecoming participants this year is relatively the same as the previous year, the three routes remain the favorite destinations for Pemudik travelers who arrive at the GSN Terminal to continue their journey to their hometowns.

"For the Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Group itself, we've prepared 73 buses for a total of around 4,030 free homecoming travelers this year. Overall, the number is nearly the same as last year," said Widyaswendra.

He added that bus departures from the Gapura Surya Nusantara Passenger Terminal make it easier for travelers because they can immediately continue their journey to their destination without having to leave the port area to look for further transportation.

In addition to serving the Pemudik flow, Pelindo Terminal Petikemas is also preparing a return flow service scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026. Return flow bus departures will be carried out from terminals in each region in coordination with the local transportation agency.

"We are also working with the Transportation Agency in each region. For the return flow, buses will depart from terminals in each region," he said.

Meanwhile, General Manager of the Kalimas and Gapura Surya Nusantara (GSN) Branches of Pelindo Regional 3 Sub-Regional Java, Ana Adiliya, said that during this year's Mudik Iedul Fitri period there was an increase in the number of ship passengers at Tanjung Perak Port.

"The number of ship passengers during the Eid al-Fitr Transportation Post has reached around 32,000 passengers, an increase of around 6 percent compared to last year's figure of around 30,000 passengers," he said.

One of the Dharma Ferry VII passengers, Agus Setiawan (39), said he was helped by the free homecoming program. He and five members of his family took advantage of the free bus service to continue their journey to Trenggalek.

"We feel very helped by this program. We don't have to leave the port to find transportation and don't have to incur additional costs to return to Trenggalek, especially since I have two toddlers with me," he said.
