SURABAYA (ISL News, February 25, 2026) – PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL), together with regulators and port stakeholders in the Tanjung Perak area, continues to take strategic steps to improve service efficiency and strengthen East Java's role as a national logistics hub. On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Arrangement of Tanjung Perak Port Zone 2 was signed, in response to increasing port activities that demand higher service speeds.
Optimization of Anchorage Zone 2 Arrangement, or called EAZI (Express Anchorage Zone Service) was initiated by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong and implemented through strategic collaboration with the Tanjung Perak Main Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP), Gresik KSOP, Tanjung Perak Class I Type A Navigation District, Java Sub-Regional PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), and PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim.
The EAZI service is implemented in an integrated manner at three terminals managed by TTL: TPK Teluk Lamong, TPK Berlian, and TPK Nilam, with a primary focus on improving services for domestic vessels. Through this scheme, TTL provides a priority waiting area for vessels up to 150 meters in length, along with more planned, stringent, and measurable ship movement regulations.
The EAZI service has significantly impacted operational efficiency. The transition time for a vessel from undocking to docking, which previously took 4–6 hours, is now targeted to be reduced to a maximum of 2 hours, while maintaining safety and compliance with applicable regulations.
The Head of Tanjung Perak's Main Port Authority (KSOP), Agustinus Maun, stated that the restructuring of Terminal 2 not only improves service speed but also strengthens navigational safety in Tanjung Perak waters. "The restructuring of Terminal 2 is a crucial step in port service innovation to streamline the flow of goods, given that Tanjung Perak Port is one of the main trade gateways in East Java," he said.
In addition to increasing service speed, TTL reaffirmed its commitment to maritime safety and order. All vessels using EAZI services are required to activate their Automatic Identification System (AIS) and comply with all operational requirements, including a prohibition on activities outside established zones and procedures.
PT Terminal Teluk Lamong President Director David Pandapotan Sirait emphasized that the success of the EAZI service is the result of solid collaboration between stakeholders. "Optimizing Terminal Zone 2 through EAZI is a concrete manifestation of the synergy between regulators, terminal operators, pilotage, and entities within the Pelindo Group. This collaboration reflects the transformation of maritime services that prioritizes integration, coordination, and clear and measurable operational standards," he explained.
Based on data from the East Java Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the province's economy is projected to grow by 5.33% throughout 2025, accompanied by a 17.09% increase in the volume of domestic sea freight loading and unloading by the end of 2025. This situation demands increasingly optimal infrastructure readiness and maritime space management to ensure a smooth supply chain.
Through the optimization of the Port Zone 2 Arrangement which is implemented in an integrated manner at TPK Teluk Lamong, TPK Berlian, and TPK Nilam, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong hopes to further strengthen the role of Tanjung Perak Port as the main logistics hub of Eastern Indonesia, support the smooth distribution of goods in East Java, and have an impact on economic growth and community welfare.
