SURABAYA (ISL News, 4/2/2026) – PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) continues its efforts to provide relevant and impactful social roles by distributing aid to four social foundations that support orphans, abandoned babies, and the elderly in the Malang area. The activity, which took place at the end of January, is part of the company's commitment to implementing sustainable Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), with a focus on meeting basic needs and improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups.

The assistance distributed is designed based on the actual needs of each institution. At Griya Lansia Kasih Anugerah, which cares for 16 seniors, TPS support is aimed at creating a more suitable and comfortable living environment. The provision of chairs for seniors for sunbathing, foam mattresses, and improvements to common spaces are expected to support the physical health, comfort, and psychological well-being of the elderly in carrying out their daily activities.

Meanwhile, for the Ar-Rahmah Orphanage, which cares for 15 boys from underprivileged families, assistance is focused on meeting basic needs to support the children's daily activities. This support is expected to help ensure the children continue to receive nutrition, a sense of security, and comfort, allowing them to grow and develop optimally despite existing limitations.

TPS also distributed aid to the Peduli Kasih Foundation orphanage, which houses 68 children, ranging from infants to school-age children. The aid, which included baby formula, health supplies, food, and household hygiene supplies, was intended to support children's early development, maintain their health, and create a more hygienic and safe care environment.

At the Peduli Kasih Foundation Nursing Home, which cares for 33 elderly residents from various regions, assistance is focused on meeting daily care needs. This support is expected to assist the nursing home's management in providing more adequate care, maintaining health, and upholding the dignity of the elderly in their daily lives.

TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika Asih Palupi, stated that the distribution of this aid is not solely determined by the amount or type of assistance, but rather by the direct benefits experienced by the recipients. "We believe that well-targeted support can have a more meaningful impact. Through the TJSL program, TPS strives to be a caring social partner, listening to needs, and contributing sustainably to the community," she said.

Erika added that TPS's social commitment will continue to be implemented consistently as part of the company's responsibility to foster values of caring, togetherness, and sustainability with the community.
