Pelindo (Persero) is ready to serve the Mudik Lebaran Iedul Fitri 1447 Hijriah, at the 63 passenger terminals it manages

JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News, February 20, 2026)  - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo ensures the readiness of facilities and infrastructure at 63 passenger and roro terminals managed by the Company to support the smooth flow of transportation for the 2026 Eid homecoming by optimizing port services, increasing operational capacity, and strengthening coordination with all stakeholders.


Pelindo Corporate Secretariat Group Head Ali Sodikin stated that his party is committed to ensuring safe, smooth, and comfortable passenger services and terminal operations during the Iedul Fitri holiday period, which is predicted to see a 5% increase in public mobility compared to last year.


"In 2025, Pelindo served 2,363,567 passengers using sea transportation for their the Mudik Lebaran Iedul Fitri. The number of passengers traveling during the 2026 the Mudik Lebaran Iedul Fitri is predicted to increase to 2.5 million, compared to last year's figures," Ali said.


In response to this, Ali added that management is preparing facilities, internal operational officers and security from the TNI/Polri, and increasing inspections of passengers' belongings to ensure a safe and comfortable the Mudik Lebaran Iedul Fitri  experience.


As part of its operational strategy, Pelindo has prepared Ciwandan Port in Banten to ease congestion at the Merak-Bakauheni ferry port. Bojonegara Port, to the north of Ciwandan Port, is being prepared as an alternative should Merak and Ciwandan Ports experience congestion.


In addition to preparing port facilities, Pelindo also participated in the 2026 Mudik Gratis Program with SOEs organized by the SOE Regulatory Agency (BPI) and Danantara with the theme "Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope." This policy aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive as a manifestation of SOEs' commitment to not only focusing on business performance but also on tangible benefits for the community. This year, Pelindo provided a total of more than 7,000 free bus seats for homecoming and return trips, also as part of Pelindo's TJSL program.


"Registration for Pelindo's free Mudik  program can be done online. Therefore, those who need it, please continue to monitor the @pelindo Instagram social media account for the latest information," Ali explained.


Pelindo also urges passengers traveling home and back by sea to arrive earlier than scheduled to avoid congestion. This will ensure a more comfortable journey, especially in high-traffic areas such as Tanjung Perak Port, Tanjung Pinang Port, Tanjung Balai Karimun Port, Makassar Port, and Balikpapan Port.


"The Iedul Fitri's Mudik period is a crucial time for Pelindo to provide wholehearted service. Pelindo consistently provides the best service by ensuring operational readiness at all ports and continuously transforming to improve service quality," Ali concluded.
