KENDARI (ISL News, 5/1/2026) – Kendari Container Terminal (TPK Kendari) ensures that operational activities within the terminal continue to run normally, despite a strike by some truck drivers in the area leading to TPK Kendari.
Ship loading and unloading activities, container services, and operational activities within the terminal area are currently continuing as planned, prioritizing safety, security, and smooth service for service users.
Regarding road access conditions, the Kendari Community Health Center (TPK) continues to coordinate intensively with the Kendari City Government. In a meeting this afternoon between TPK Kendari management and the Kendari City Government, both parties affirmed their shared commitment to accelerating the improvement and repair of road access to the TPK Kendari.
As a follow-up, since yesterday the Kendari TPK has been carrying out temporary repairs to road access by filling in sand and stone (sirtu) material.
This step was taken as an effort to prevent the risk of traffic accidents, both for two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, while waiting for the implementation of comprehensive further repairs by the Kendari City Government.
Head of the Kendari TPK Terminal, Herryanto, said that all operational activities within the terminal continue to run according to procedures.
"The demonstration did not disrupt activities at the terminal. We assure you that loading and unloading operations and container services at the Kendari Container Terminal remain normal," said Herryanto.
The Kendari Port Terminal (TPK) is currently handling the loading and unloading of the Meratus Larantuka, while the KM SPIL Rahayu completed its service and unmoored at 9:34 a.m. The terminal is scheduled to receive the KM Kabonga Baru, KM Huanghe Mas, and KM Tanto Kawan.
The Chairman of ALFI/ILFA of Southeast Sulawesi Province, Abd. Rahim Nabok, expressed his appreciation to the Kendari Task Force for their swift action in providing temporary support by filling in potholes at the entrance to the Kendari Task Force. He expressed his hope that the Kendari City Government would resolve the road access issue promptly, no later than Tuesday, January 6, 2026, to ensure smooth logistics flow and the safety of road users.
"We appreciate the Kendari TPK's swift action in providing temporary support by filling in potholes at the entrance to the Kendari TPK. We hope that synergy between the Kendari TPK and the Kendari City Government can quickly resolve this road access issue," Rahim added.
