SURABAYA (ISL News) — Christians and stakeholders of Tanjung Perak Port gathered for the 2025 Ecumenical Christmas and 2026 New Year Service and Celebration held at the New Life Ballroom, Ciputra World Surabaya, Friday evening (January 23). Participants filled the 1,000-person New Life Ballroom, reflecting the high enthusiasm of all stakeholders.
Carrying the theme "God is present to save the family" (Matthew 1:21–24), this celebration was attended by the Surabaya City Government, Tanjung Perak Main KSOP, Port Police, Customs, Navigation District, Lantamal V, Pelindo Group, port and logistics associations, shipping lines, banking, and business partners in the Tanjung Perak Port environment.
The President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL), David P. Sirait, who was appointed as the chairman of the 2025 Tanjung Perak Port Stakeholder Ecumenical Christmas Committee, said that this celebration is not just a ceremonial activity, but a symbol of the strong unity and family spirit within the port environment.
"Tanjung Perak Port is not only a hub for national logistics activities, but also an extended family. Through this Ecumenical Christmas, we want to reaffirm the values of togetherness, mutual trust, and collaboration among all stakeholders in serving the nation," said David P. Sirait.
He added that amidst global challenges and the dynamics of the maritime industry, the greatest strength of ports lies in the solidarity of all stakeholders. "With the spirit of Christmas, we look to 2026 with optimism, unity, and a commitment to providing increasingly reliable, safe, and competitive port services," he added.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Surabaya, Dr. Eri Cahyadi, ST, MT, expressed his appreciation and special significance for the holding of the Ecumenical Christmas at Tanjung Perak Port. "The Ecumenical Christmas celebration at Tanjung Perak Port is very special. This is the first time I have seen all port stakeholders unite in a single Christmas celebration filled with love and joy. This is a real manifestation of care and togetherness," said Eri Cahyadi.
He also emphasized that Christmas prayers and values play a vital role in the future of Surabaya. "The peace of Christmas brings joy to many people and inspires us to continue praying for Surabaya to become a comfortable, safe, and prosperous city. Tanjung Perak Port is an integral part of Surabaya's progress, and prayers and togetherness like this are a great strength for our city," he added.
The Ecumenical Christmas celebration was further enlivened by the presence of national comedian Mongol Stress, who delivered a stand-up comedy session, lightening the mood, and strengthening the bond among stakeholders.
Through this celebration, the Tanjung Perak Port family reaffirmed their commitment to continue building a professional, harmonious, and service-oriented port ecosystem for the city of Surabaya and Indonesia.
