SURABAYA (ISL News) – PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), a subsidiary of the Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP) Subholding, successfully loaded three piping fabrication units for export to Australia. The loading of the domestically manufactured export products took place early Thursday morning (December 4) at the TPS International Pier.
The cargo loaded falls into the Uncontainerized (UC) category, meaning it's packaged without containers. Similar to Out of Gauge (OOG) or Over Dimension (OD) cargo, which is large and cannot be contained in containers, UC cargo requires intensive handling, precision, and coordination, from planning and transportation to loading onto the ship.
The special equipment used includes 4 shackle/ seal units and 4 wire rope sling units , as well as a special chassis , namely a low bed chassis . Loading is carried out under the deck of MV. Kokopo Chief Voy. 2534 S. Last week, TPS also served the unloading of 2 UC machines from Italy. This means that in a very short time, TPS has handled 5 Breakbulk (BBK) cargo units in the UC category.
TPS Senior Vice President (SVP) of Terminal Operations, Ilyas Darmawan, stated that TPS has experience handling special cargo like this. " TPS has handled several special cargoes, both imports and exports. With extensive experience, the competence of TPS's human resources, and the intense coordination of all parties to provide excellent service, this unloading process can run smoothly and safely, " said Ilyas.
In October 2025, TPS recorded an 8.5% increase in international container traffic compared to September 2025 (month-on-month) . This achievement in October 2025 was the highest volume in 2025 in the last ten months.
