JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM), as a subsidiary under the management of PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim and supporting the creation of a maritime ecosystem within PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo Group, conducted Operation and Maintenance Training for Loading and Unloading Equipment using electric power to the loading and unloading operational team in 6 regional branches 2 with a total of 16 loading and unloading equipment that have had their main driving power sources modified as an important milestone in the effort to realize a pollution-free green port through the use of clean energy.
This capability improvement activity was successfully carried out for 3 days, 22-24 September 2026 in Ciawi, West Java at the Pelindo Training Center (Corporate University) which was attended by 30 participants from various levels ranging from operators and operational loading and unloading equipment technicians to managers in both the engineering and operations departments.
In line with the Green Port program that has been launched by Pelindo and implemented through the electrification initiative of fossil fuel-based loading and unloading equipment to be electrically powered, especially for 4 (four) types, namely: Gantry Jib Crane (GJC), Gantry Luffing Crane (GLC), Fix Jib Crane (FJC), and Rail Mounted Gantry Crane (RMGC) which are handled by Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM). With the Mission of realizing a national maritime ecosystem network through the management of reliable, efficient, agile marine engineering services and meeting the expectations of all stakeholders to support Indonesia's economic growth, PSM always fully supports the clean energy transition in the Port environment in order to realize a Green Port and a sustainable and value-added Blue Economy.
Director of Operations and Commercial, Nurhadi, expressed his appreciation for the participants' enthusiasm in participating in this training. "This training is a strategic step to improve human resource competency to ensure the readiness of operators and technicians in managing electric-based loading and unloading equipment technology that is more environmentally friendly, efficient, reliable, and meets high standards. We hope that in the future the use of these electrified tools can continue to be expanded to all branches, so that it will not only increase operational efficiency but also accelerate PSM's contribution to realizing cleaner and more sustainable port operations," said Nurhadi.
Strengthening the strategic initiatives that PSM has undertaken, PSM Corporate Secretary, Moch. Ilhamsyah, emphasized that this program is a tangible proof of the Company's commitment to transforming towards a greener maritime future.
