JAMBI INDONESIA (ISL News) - In commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) held a Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program entitled Inclusive Training to Produce Superior Blind Therapists (TERANG). The training, which took place on December 3–5, 2025 at the Jambi City Social Service, was attended by 16 blind participants. This program was implemented through a collaboration between IPC TPK with the Jambi City Social Service and the Jambi Little Friends Family Foundation, with participants coming from the Jambi City Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni).

This synergy is a concrete manifestation of how companies, government, and communities can play an active role in building a more inclusive ecosystem and opening access to equal empowerment for people with disabilities. The TERANG training was held for a total duration of 15 hours of learning, covering in-depth massage techniques for various body complaints such as headaches, back pain, insomnia, body vitality, and handling common complaints such as colds.

"The Social Services Agency welcomes and thanks IPC TPK for organizing this activity. We hope that similar training can be held again in the future to start improving the economic standard of living of our friends with disabilities in Jambi so that they can better manage their lives," said Edriansyah SH, MM, Secretary of the Jambi City Social Services Agency.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2024, more than 17.8 million Indonesians were recorded as having disabilities. One-third of these people with disabilities have not completed basic education. Furthermore, the workforce participation of people with disabilities in the country is only 23.94%. As an advanced training program, the TERANG program is designed to deepen professional massage techniques so that participants can provide higher quality, more competitive services with higher economic value.

To strengthen independence after the program, IPC TPK also provides work equipment support in the form of massage mattresses, massage oil, massage cream, and massage cloths so that participants can immediately develop independent work practices. In addition, participants also receive training certificates issued by the Jambi City Social Services Agency. This facilitation is part of the company's commitment to creating sustainable social impact through empowering vulnerable groups.

"The TERANG program isn't just about training, but about opening broader opportunities for people with disabilities to increase their capacity and economic independence. We hope these advanced skills will help blind therapists provide higher-quality services while strengthening their independence," said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK.

IPC TPK will continue to deliver inclusive, impactful, and sustainable CSR programs, in line with the company's vision to make a real contribution to society. This initiative also forms part of the company's commitment to implementing ESG principles, particularly the social aspect and strengthening DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) within the community, ensuring that sustainability is not just about operations but also about the people within it.
