PELINDO Group Regional 2 PALEMBANG Conducts Socialization and Implementation of Business Continuity Management (BCM)

PALEMBANG (ISL News) - Pelindo Group Regional 2 Palembang has affirmed its commitment to maintaining operational continuity and service to its customers by accelerating the implementation of Business Continuity Management (BCM) across all operational lines. This step aligns with the direction of the Pelindo Board of Directors and complies with Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises regulations requiring companies to have a comprehensive disruptive risk management framework.


The socialization was attended by the Head of the Non-Operational Risk Management Department of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), Muhammad Fatkhulloh, Senior Manager of Regional Management System 2, Viranky Octavianus, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, Nunu Husnul Khitam along with the leaders of Sub Holding and Subsidiaries of Pelindo Group Regional 2 Palembang.


BCM is a strategic tool for Pelindo to ensure service continuity despite disruptions, disasters, or incidents that could potentially halt business processes. BCM implementation is carried out in layers, starting with identifying critical business processes, establishing a command structure for handling disruptions, integrating documents across entities, and conducting regular training and simulations.


General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, Nunu Husnul Khitam, said that implementing BCM not only fulfills regulatory obligations but also ensures the company has high resilience in facing various operational threats.


"Ports are vital assets. BCM ensures operations continue, assets are protected, and the company's reputation remains intact even in the face of disruptions. With BCM, we want to ensure Pelindo is always ready in any situation," he said.


He also added that BCM is a crucial part of the company's efforts to keep the business abreast of current developments. "I believe BCM is not a want, but a necessity, as it ensures our business continues to operate in line with changing times, technology, and demands," he added.


Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang is also consolidating BCM documents from all entities operating in the branch area, including subholdings and subsidiaries. This aims to provide a single source of truth in the event of a disruption.


With the increasingly mature implementation of BCM, Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang ensures that port services, including container, non-container, marine, financial, and information systems, can continue to operate even in emergency conditions.
