
SURABAYA INDONESIA (ISL News) – PT Pelindo Marine Service (Pelindo Marine) is consistently committed to supporting Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) for people with disabilities through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, in collaboration with Baitulmaal Muamalat (BMM).
The TJSL program aims to improve the mobility and productivity of people with disabilities by providing disability aids and business equipment to Sutikno, a furniture craftsman in Geger Village, Madiun Regency, and to Muniri, a street food vendor in Pandian Hamlet, Bangkalan Regency.
Corporate Secretary of PT Pelindo Marine Service, Fesi Dita Anugra, explained that the TJSL program is not only to fulfill the company's obligations, but also aims to create a positive impact that is sustainable and inclusive. "We want to make a real contribution to support MSMEs, especially to disabled business actors, by providing assistance such as prosthetic legs and equipment to support their businesses," said Fesi Dita.
One of the aid recipients, Sutikno, explained his gratitude when he received disability aids and new work machines at home which is also a workshop, how to make furniture that he usually produces with limited tools.
"This assistance is very helpful to me, if usually the work I do takes days, now it can be completed in a shorter time. The tool really saves my energy and is time efficient, so I can focus more on product design and completion. I would like to thank Pelindo Marine because this program is very useful for small MSMEs, especially to help people with disabilities like me who still have the responsibility of sending my four children to school," said Sutikno.
Muniri also expressed his happiness and gratitude to Pelindo Marine, because of this TJSL program he can carry out his profession as a traveling trader more easily. The man who used to be a traveling meatball seller in Kalimantan who liked to play soccer before having an accident and losing his right leg.
"After the incident, I returned to Madura and continued my work selling snacks by going around using a modified motorbike. With this prosthetic leg, my daily activities in earning a living by selling snacks will be easier," said Muniri.
By collaborating with Baitulmaal Muamalat, Pelindo Marine hopes to provide a broader impact in improving the quality of life of the community, especially disabled business actors. Through this effort, it can support increased mobility and open greater opportunities for economic independence, by overcoming the challenges of physical limitations. thus providing sustainable long-term benefits.
