JAKARTA INDONESIA (ISL News) -
The movement of passenger flow during the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays on D-3 at all passenger terminals managed by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo was recorded at 815 thousand people, an increase of around 1% compared to the same period in 2023.

The passenger terminal with the largest passenger flow was Tanjung Pinang which reached 94.4 thousand people, followed by the Ambon area with 54.2 thousand people, Tanjung Balai Karimun with 51.2 thousand people, Tanjung Perak with 45.4 thousand people, and Makassar with 38.4 thousand people.

Pelindo Corporate Secretary, Ardhy Wahyu Basuki emphasized that service during the 2024/2025 Nataru period is a concern because it is felt directly by the community. "Following up on the direction of the Ministry of SOEs in ensuring that passengers remain comfortable, safe and smooth during the 2024/2025 Nataru period, we are providing additional facilities to anticipate the surge in the number of passengers." explained Ardhy.

The additional facilities include tents and chairs for additional waiting rooms equipped with portable toilets, additional check-in counters, increased inspection of passenger luggage and additional security officers.

There was also an increase in vehicle flow, which was 55.4 thousand vehicles or an increase of 1% compared to 2023. Tanjung Perak Terminal was the busiest with a vehicle flow of 15 thousand units, followed by Lembar Terminal 10.3 thousand units, Tanjung Wangi 5.1 thousand units, Trisakti 4.3 thousand units, and Gunung Sitoli 3.1 thousand vehicle units.

Ardhy emphasized that all terminals managed by Pelindo operate 24/7 during the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year holidays, so that services to passengers, vehicles, and goods continue to run without any problems. This non-stop service is strengthened by the implementation of digital systems and applications that make operations faster, more reliable, more accurate, and more transparent.

On the sea side, there is the Phinnisi application integrated with the Ministry of Transportation's Inaportnet portal, while on the land side (terminal) there is the Terminal Operating System (TOS) Nusantara application at the container terminal and Pelindo Terminal Operating System - Multiterminal (PTOS-M) at the non-container terminal. In addition, in warehouses and other supporting areas, applications such as the Warehouse Operating System and Autogate System are available.

"We ensure that service users do not need to worry and will receive normal services according to their needs during the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year holidays. All terminals managed by Pelindo are operating to serve service users and ensure that the flow of goods in and out of the port runs smoothly," said Ardhy.
