PT Pelindo and PT Marina DI Sign Contract to Build Full-Service Cruise Ship Marina in Indonesia with International Standards

 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia/Pelindo (Persero) and PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) are pleased to announce the construction of the first international standard full-service marina in Indonesia.


This landmark project represents a significant leap forward in tourism and marina infrastructure in Indonesia. The marina will be able to accommodate 180 berths, including more than 50 superyachts up to 90 meters in length.


In this Marina which will have a modern yacht service area equipped with a service lift capable of accommodating loads of up to 200 tons and a high-quality fuel filling station. This development is ready to present world-class facilities, which will further position Indonesia as the main destination for marina activities.


The first international standard full service marina in Bali, Indonesia, which can accommodate 180 berths, including more than 50 superyachts up to 90 meters in length.


"Indonesia deserves a first-class marina that reflects its status as the world's new yachting paradise," said Ulf Backlund, President Director of Marina Development Indonesia.


"Indonesia's unique location, safe from hurricanes and typhoons, combined with 17,000 islands, spectacular dive sites, diverse languages, cultures and year-round favorable weather, makes Indonesia an ideal location for such development. The marina will attract a global audience of yachting enthusiasts and those open to exploring Indonesia's natural beauty in the world's largest archipelago."


This new marina in Bali is strategically located in Benoa just 15 minutes from the airport, planned to be the main yacht hub in the region to serve international and domestic yacht owners, called the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH).

• MDI is developing the marina in collaboration with leading global and local companies, including SF Marina, a renowned Swedish marina developer specializing in the construction of floating breakwaters and concrete pontoons, with over a century of experience and renowned marina development projects such as Marina Port Vell in Barcelona and Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, who will build the Marina in Benoa to the same exceptional standards, with most components manufactured locally with their Indonesian partners, SF Marina Indonesia.


• MDI also partnered with Italy’s Plus Marine for the installation of state-of-the-art power and water masts with the SmartCloud remote measurement system. Renowned for its work in Port Hercule, Monaco and Porto Montenegro, Plus Marine ensures precise control, efficient charging and exceptional service for yacht owners through expertly designed and managed systems.


• Complementing these state-of-the-art facilities and design is a suite of luxurious services created by Discover Luxury Indonesia, offering on- and off-ship experiences and comprehensive logistical support, ensuring an unrivaled experience for yacht owners and yacht crew.


The marina’s design and facilities will adhere to the highest international standards, with a focus on sustainability and environmental preservation. Yacht owners and visitors can look forward to a range of premium amenities, including a prestigious yacht club, state-of-the-art yacht services and a high-quality fueling station, luxury hospitality options, entertainment and commercial areas with extensive retail, office and dining outlets.

 

 

Pelindo's Vision as a Key Player

Most notably, the new marina project is a major initiative to stimulate the local economy by creating jobs, promoting tourism and fostering an active yachting community. With construction already underway, the new marina is scheduled to welcome its first yachts to its berths in the second half of 2025. Full yacht capacity is planned to be operational by mid-2026.
