JAKARTA (ISL News) – In order to commemorate National Transportation Day, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation through PPLP Kelas 1 Tanjung Priok (Sea and Coast Guard) held a shipping safety socialization event aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of the importance of safety at sea. This event was held in Kampung Bahari Jaya by various related parties, including local fishermen and maritime communities.
On this occasion, PPLP Kelas 1 Tanjung Priok (Sea and Coast Guard) also provided socialization in the form of life jackets and basic necessities to fishermen in Kampung Bahari Jaya. This socialization was given as a form of support for the safety and welfare of fishermen who work at sea every day.
Dr. Triono, Head PPLP Kelas 1 Tanjung Priok (Sea and Coast Guard), in his speech said, “National Transportation Day is a very meaningful moment for all of us to reflect on the achievements and challenges in the maritime transportation sector. We want to ensure that every voyage is carried out in accordance with high safety standards. Through this socialization, we want to instill awareness of the importance of safety at sea.”
Dr. Triono added, Shipping safety is our shared responsibility. The Tanjung Priok Class I Sea and Coast Guard Base will continue to be committed to improving training and counseling for business actors and related communities, in order to create a safe and comfortable shipping environment.
