JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has successfully served 45.6 million ferry passengers throughout 2023 at 37 ports managed by ASDP, from Sabang to Merauke.
ASDP Main Director Ira Puspadewi said that this number is the combined cargo of all ships operating at 37 ASDP ports throughout Indonesia, both pedestrians and passengers in various categories of vehicles. (16/2/2024).
"From the total production of 45 million passengers, it was recorded that the dominance of class IV A four-wheeled vehicle passengers or private vehicles reached 14,353,804 million or the equivalent of 35.4 percent of the total. Based on monitoring results in the field, community movements in the country continue to increase. "Many people travel for holidays by land with their families, who then take ferries to their hometowns, as well as various cities with selected tourist destinations," he said.
The increase in vehicle traffic and passengers using ferryboats has occurred since the 2022 Eid transport service or after the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia since 2020. After class IVA vehicles or private vehicles, the increase was followed by passengers in class VI A vehicles or private vehicles with a length of 7-10 meters recorded at 24.1% of the total or 9,746,304 passengers.
Meanwhile, class V vehicle passengers or goods vehicles with a length of 5-7 meters contributed 4,269,688 passengers and were closely followed by class II two-wheeled vehicle passengers with 4,011,024 passengers throughout 2023.
Then, Ira highlighted the influence of digitizing ticket reservations through the Ferizy application. can provide an experience of convenience and practicality for ASDP service users when traveling by ferry.
This is indicated by the consistent growth in the number of Ferizy users since it was first launched in 2020. ASDP noted that throughout 2023 Ferizy users will soar to 655,951 users, an increase of 32 percent from the previous year. With this increase, there are a total of 2,050,596 Ferizy users by February 2024.
"With the existence of Ferizy, the queue of vehicles both on the entrance road and from inside the port during golden time has been reduced significantly because service users have chosen a ticket schedule that is available according to their needs, thus allowing them to to arrange the departure schedule from the point of origin.” said Ira.
Ira added that along with the increase in the number of ship passengers and Ferizy users, ASDP will continue to develop and strengthen the application system as ASDP's commitment to carrying out digital service transformation and innovation.
ASDP continues to support the creation of quality ports and crossings by implementing a radius restriction on the area for purchasing ferry tickets online so that all service users are required to plan their trips optimally by making reservations via the Ferizy application or website.
By maximizing infrastructure and improving a number of facilities, ASDP hopes for a smooth homecoming and return flow for Eid 2024, especially for 10 routes in 12 nationally monitored branches.
Ticket Sales Restriction Radius Optimized
Since December 11 2023, ASDP has imposed restrictions on the ticket sales area around the port with a maximum radius of 5 km from the port based on the letter from the Director General of Transportation AP.406/1/5/DJPD/2023 regarding the Arrangement of Electronic Ticket Booking Services.
The limit radius for purchasing ferry tickets is as follows:
1. Merak Harbor is 4.71 km from the center point of the outermost port (as an example of the reference point for the Pesona Merak Hotel).
2. Bakauheni Port is 4.24 km from the center point of the outermost port (as an example of reference for the Agricultural Quarantine Center).
3. Ketapang Port is 2.65 km from the center point of the outermost port (as an example of reference for Sri Tanjung Terminal).
4. Gilimanuk Harbor is 2 km from the center point of the outermost port (as an example of reference for the Cargo Terminal).
"We urge service users, especially those who will go through the main ASDP ports, namely Merak, Bakauheni, Ketapang and Gilimanuk ports to pay attention to the ticket purchasing radius. "It is hoped that D-1 before departure, all passengers will have tickets to avoid crowding at the port," concluded Ira.
