MEDAN (ISL News) - PT Integrasi Logistik Cipta Solusi (PT ILCS), also known as Pelindo Solusi Digital, a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), held Pelindo Mengajar, attended by 125 students from Medan 11 State Senior High School. This program is part of the company's strategic initiative to support the development of adaptive, character-driven human resources with an understanding of the maritime industry and digital technology.
The transformation of the port and logistics industry requires not only reliable infrastructure and technology systems, but also future talent capable of understanding change, mastering new competencies, and creating innovation. Through Pelindo Mengajar, Pelindo Solusi Digital strives to introduce these opportunities to the younger generation from an early age.
Students gained insight into the strategic role of ports in supporting regional connectivity, the smooth flow of goods, trade, and economic growth in Indonesia. They were also introduced to the transformation of modern ports, which increasingly rely on technology, data integration, and collaboration between business actors.
Pelindo Solusi Digital President Director Natal Iman Ginting stated that human resource readiness is a crucial factor in strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia's maritime ecosystem.
"Digital transformation isn't just about ap
plications and technology, but also about the people who are able to understand, develop, and utilize it. Through Pelindo Mengajar, we want to broaden students' horizons and demonstrate that the maritime industry offers a vast opportunity for young people to learn, innovate, and contribute to Indonesia," said Natal.
Pelindo Mengajar is designed to bridge the knowledge students gain in school with real-world developments in the industrial world. Activities are presented interactively through presentations, experience sharing, and discussions on ports, logistics, digital transformation, and various professions that support the maritime ecosystem.
In addition to introducing industry developments, students are encouraged to understand competencies increasingly needed in the future, such as digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and adaptability. The values of integrity and a passion for continuous learning are also emphasized as foundations for building readiness for further education and the world of work.
Today's modern ports are more than just a meeting place for ships and goods. They encompass an ecosystem involving terminals, shipping companies, logistics operators, goods owners, transportation providers, financial institutions, and governments. All of these parties are increasingly connected through digital systems and data exchange.
This situation opens up opportunities for young people from various educational fields. The future maritime industry will require not only operational personnel but also talent in information technology, data analytics, cybersecurity, business, communications, finance, law, the environment, and community development.
"We want students to see that their future isn't limited to a single career choice. The maritime ecosystem requires diverse talents and skills. The most important thing is to foster curiosity, the courage to try, integrity, and a willingness to continuously improve their skills," Natal continued.
The implementation of Pelindo Mengajar also demonstrates collaboration between businesses and educational institutions. This synergy is necessary to enable the younger generation to gain a deeper understanding of industrial developments, while companies can contribute to building an educational ecosystem relevant to future challenges.
This program is part of Pelindo Solusi Digital's Social and Environmental Responsibility commitment in education and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education. The program's implementation aims to provide benefits beyond delivering content, but also fosters students' aspirations, confidence, and motivation in planning for their future.
Through Pelindo Mengajar, Pelindo Solusi Digital emphasizes that talent development is a crucial part of transforming the maritime ecosystem. Investment in the education of the younger generation is expected to support the development of human resources ready to play a role in the development of an increasingly integrated, efficient, and competitive Indonesian maritime and logistics industry.
Pelindo Solusi Digital is committed to continuously strengthening collaboration with educational institutions and other stakeholders in presenting relevant programs, providing inspiration, and opening access to knowledge for Indonesia's young generation.
