SURABAYA (ISL News) - The consistent implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) has yielded positive results. Through an Anti-Extortion and Gratuity Survey involving service users and business partners, TPS achieved a high level of satisfaction and recorded zero illegal levies or gratuities in the company's service processes.

The survey, which involved 12 companies using the service, found that TPS achieved an average score of 4.75 out of 5.00 for its implementation of corporate governance principles. Furthermore, the survey recorded a 100 percent extortion and gratuity-free status, meaning no cases or unauthorized requests were found in the company's service delivery during the survey period.

This achievement reflects TPS's success in building a work culture of integrity, transparency, and customer satisfaction. Survey results also show that service users assess that the implementation of GCG principles at TPS has been consistent and has had a positive impact on service quality.

In the evaluation of the five main principles of corporate governance, Transparency, Accountability, and Responsibility each received the highest score, with 4.75, or 95.0 percent, while Independence and Fairness each received a score of 4.67, or 93.3 percent.

TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika Asih Palupi, said that the survey results are an important indicator of the level of service user trust in the integrity and professionalism of TPS services.

"Achieving a score of 4.75 out of 5.00 and achieving 100 percent freedom from extortion and gratification is a testament to TPS's commitment to conducting business transparently and accountably, in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance, from our service users. We appreciate the trust placed in us and will continue to make continuous improvements to maintain service quality and the company's integrity," he said.

Throughout 2026, TPS consistently implemented various programs to strengthen corporate governance and a culture of integrity. These activities included socializing Good Corporate Governance to customers and shipping lines, socializing the Anti-Extortion and Whistleblowing System (WBS) to vendors and truck drivers, and strengthening compliance awareness among internal and external company stakeholders.

TPS also continues to promote the implementation of a reporting mechanism through the Whistleblowing System, a means for employees, customers, and business partners to report suspected violations safely, confidentially, and professionally. This step is part of the company's efforts to create a work and service environment free from corruption, collusion, nepotism, extortion, and gratification.

Successfully maintaining a clean and integrated business environment is a crucial foundation for TPS in providing reliable, safe, and efficient container terminal services. Supported by a strong culture of good governance, TPS is optimistic about continuing to enhance customer trust and support the smooth operation of the national logistics chain.

As part of the Pelindo Group, TPS will continue to strengthen the implementation of the principles of Transparency, Accountability, Responsibility, Independence, and Fairness (TARIF) in all company business activities to realize superior, sustainable, and customer satisfaction-oriented port services.
