President Director Achmad Muchtasyar: Pelindo Continues to Strengthen Port Infrastructure Integration with Industrial Estates

JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo continues to strengthen the integration of port infrastructure with industrial areas, transportation networks, and digital ecosystems so that port development can create traffic, increase logistics efficiency, and simultaneously encourage economic growth in various regions.

Pelindo President Director Achmad Muchtasyar believes integration is a key factor in ensuring infrastructure development doesn't stop at individual sectors. He believes ports, roads, industrial areas, and supporting infrastructure need to be planned as a single, interconnected ecosystem.

"Integration is one of the most important aspects in reducing logistics costs. We need to integrate various logistics-related sectors so that the infrastructure we build can support each other and provide optimal benefits," said Achmad.

Infrastructure development undertaken separately has the potential to result in assets being underutilized. Ports, for example, require connectivity with the hinterland, road access, and surrounding economic activity to generate sustainable traffic. The importance of integrated connectivity is also reflected in the development of Kijing Port in Mempawah, which is becoming increasingly relevant as downstream processing and industrial activity expand in the region.

This approach aligns with Pelindo's development direction, which has evolved from a port operator to an end-to-end service provider and ecosystem driver. Pelindo encourages port integration with port-associated industries, industrial estates, and transportation networks to create efficiency and stimulate economic growth in the surrounding areas.

Achmad added that physical integration must go hand in hand with digital integration. The flow of goods at ports is inseparable from the flow of documents and information, which involves various stakeholders, from terminal operators, shipping companies, goods owners, logistics companies, and regulators.

Develop ADHARA

To that end, Pelindo developed ADHARA, a digital platform that connects various systems within the maritime logistics ecosystem. The platform aims to strengthen data interoperability and support the National Logistics Ecosystem and One Data Indonesia.

"The flow of goods can run smoothly if port services are running smoothly, while the flow of documents requires an integrated system. Through ADHARA, we strive to connect various actors and platforms in the logistics ecosystem to make the process more efficient," said Achmad.

Achmad explained that logistics efficiency is determined not only by the speed of goods movement, but also by the smooth flow of information and documents. Through digital integration, various processes that previously ran separately are expected to be connected, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing dwell time.

Going forward, Pelindo will continue to strengthen its role in building connectivity and integration of the national logistics chain through collaboration with various stakeholders, synergy between state-owned enterprises, infrastructure development, and the use of digital technology.

"Integration is the most important thing. How do we reduce logistics costs? Integration of all areas related to logistics," said Achmad.

Transformation of State-Owned Enterprise Management

These efforts align with Danantara's SOE transformation efforts, which include consolidation, strengthened governance, and more targeted investments. At the 2026 Investor Daily Summit in Jakarta on Thursday (October 8, 2026), Danantara's Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the SOE Regulatory Agency (BP), Dony Oskaria, emphasized that SOE management transformation is a crucial part of building a stronger and more sustainable economic foundation.

"Danantara is expected to be an engine of growth, driving accelerated economic growth, creating as many jobs as possible, and simultaneously bringing about fundamental transformation in the management of our state-owned enterprises," said Dony.

According to Dony, this transformation was carried out by comprehensively restructuring the state-owned enterprise (SOE) portfolio. Of the more than 1,000 companies within the SOE ecosystem, an evaluation was conducted based on industry characteristics, global benchmarks, business models, cost structures, market conditions, financial capabilities, and organizational capacity. The evaluation results served as the basis for determining which companies needed to be strengthened, consolidated, divested, or liquidated.

Strengthening governance is also a crucial part of this transformation. Danantara encourages investment discipline by ensuring that every SOE investment has an adequate economic basis and aligns with the company's strategy. According to Donny, this step is necessary to ensure SOEs have stronger fundamentals and are able to generate value that can be reinvested to drive investment and economic growth.
