JAKARTA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) continues to strengthen its focus on employee welfare by providing supporting facilities in the workplace. Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok demonstrated this commitment by inaugurating the Little Harbor Daycare in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, on Wednesday (October 21, 2026). It is designed to accommodate the childcare needs of employee families.
Carrying the theme "Safe Pier for Little Ones, Growing and Developing," this facility was developed with children's age stages and developmental needs in mind. The presence of Little Harbor Daycare also forms part of the company's efforts to build more concrete support for employees in fulfilling their work and family responsibilities.
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) President Director Achmad Muchtasyar stated that the provision of daycare reflects the company's development toward increasingly professional governance, including addressing employee needs. He believes that childcare facilities are not only related to well-being but also have the potential to support concentration and work productivity.
"The presence of daycare is a manifestation of the company's concern for employee well-being and an effort to increase productivity. With this facility, mothers can work more peacefully, as they can remain close to their children amidst their busy work schedules," said Achmad.
According to him, the need for childcare facilities is becoming increasingly relevant given the time employees spend at work and the long commutes to work. This can limit family time, so company support through daycare facilities is expected to help employees fulfill their work responsibilities more optimally.
Achmad also appreciated Pelindo Regional 2's initiative in providing Little Harbor Daycare. He hopes similar facilities can be developed in other regions and Pelindo branches that have the capacity to provide them.
"I appreciate Pelindo Regional 2's initiative in providing Little Harbor Daycare. I hope similar facilities can be developed across all regions and Pelindo branches that have the capacity, so that Pelindo not only benefits the country but also increasingly pays attention to the welfare of the Pelindo family," he added.
In line with this, Yandri Trisaputra, Executive General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, stated that the presence of Little Harbor Daycare demonstrates the company's concern for the needs of employees and their families. This facility is expected to provide a sense of security for parents while supporting children's growth and development in a comfortable, nurturing environment.
"The presence of this daycare demonstrates the company's commitment to the well-being of employees and their families. We hope this facility will provide a safe and comfortable place for children to grow and develop, while also providing peace of mind for parents so they can focus on their work. For us, creating a positive work environment also means providing support for families, an essential part of our employees' lives," said Yandri.
In its implementation, Little Harbor Daycare collaborates with Aluna Montessori School to provide care services that integrate daily activities with child development stimulation through the Montessori method. This approach emphasizes the development of independence, self-confidence, exploration, and the natural developmental process of each child.
The learning program at Little Harbour Daycare covers practical life skills, sensory development, language, mathematics, culture and science, arts and creativity, character building, and religious activities. To support age-appropriate learning, the daycare program is divided into three categories: the Cikal Class for children aged 4–18 months, the Tunas Class for ages 18 months–3 years, and the Kuncup Mekar Class for ages 3–6 years.
In addition to Montessori learning activities, children follow a daily routine designed to promote a balance of activity and rest. These activities include music and movement, circle time, weekly thematic activities, mealtimes, nap times, and afternoon activities. The weekly program is also packaged through the Fit Monday, Harmony Tuesday, Experiment/Creation Wednesday, Sensory Thursday, and Fun Friday agendas, which provide opportunities for children to explore, create, and develop skills appropriate to their developmental stage.
By developing facilities that support work-life balance, Pelindo Regional 2 continues to strive to build a more inclusive and responsive work environment to employee needs. This support is expected to strengthen employee engagement with the company, increase focus on work, and encourage sustainable productivity.
Little Harbour Daycare is part of Pelindo Regional 2's efforts to create a work environment that is not only focused on performance but also considers the humanitarian aspects and well-being of employees' families. With a safe and nurturing environment that supports children's growth and development, Little Harbour Daycare is expected to be a small harbor that provides peace of mind for parents and a bright future for the next generation.
