PALEMBANG (ISL News) – Pelindo Group Regional 2 Palembang again conducted a Management Walkthrough (MWT) in the operational area of Boom Baru Port Palembang in September 2026. This activity is part of the management's commitment to ensure that operational implementation runs safely, effectively, and in accordance with established standards.
Management walkthroughs involve going directly into the field to observe operational conditions, facilities, the work environment, and the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) aspects. Through these activities, management can gain a firsthand view of the actual conditions in the work area and identify potential risks and aspects requiring attention.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, Darmawi, said that Management Walkthrough is a form of direct management involvement in building a safety culture and improving operational quality.
"Management Walkthroughs aren't just monitoring activities, but also provide a space for management to be directly present in the field, listen to input from workers, and ensure that every process is carried out with safety in mind," said Darmawi.
During implementation, management also interacts with workers and operational staff to obtain input regarding conditions in the field. This approach is expected to strengthen communication between management and workers, while also encouraging a safer and more productive work environment.
In addition to safety aspects, this activity also serves as a momentum to ensure the readiness of port operational facilities and support infrastructure in providing services to service users.
