SURABAYA (ISL News) - As part of the integrated implementation of operational transformation and standardization within the Pelindo Group, PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) enrolled 16 employees in a Technical Planning & Control training program, or Plan & Control (P&C)-based operational services. The training was held from August 4-8, 2026, at the Toba Meeting Room of TPS and was attended by participants from various operational functions at TPS.
During the five-day training, participants received training on container loading and unloading operational service patterns, covering various aspects of terminal operations planning and control. The material provided covered berth planning, ship planning, yard planning, manning deployment, and the implementation and control of ship and yard operations. This training is part of an ongoing effort to improve human resource competency while strengthening the implementation of harmonized operational standards across all Pelindo Group container terminals.
In addition to providing a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of terminal operations, this training also provides direct benefits for participants in improving overall operational planning and control competencies. Participants gain a more integrated understanding of the processes of berth planning, ship planning, yard planning, manning deployment, and controlling the implementation of ship and yard operations, enabling them to make faster, more accurate, and data-driven decisions.
This training also strengthens cross-functional coordination capabilities, increases understanding of operational standards implemented in an integrated manner within Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, and builds a work culture oriented towards productivity, safety, operational effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Through these competencies, participants are expected to become agents of change that support increased service reliability, consistent implementation of operational standards, and the creation of more effective, efficient, and sustainable work processes across all Pelindo Group container terminals.
Wahyu Eko Yulianto, Senior HR Manager of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), stated that employee competency development is a crucial factor in maintaining the quality of terminal services. "Through Technical Planning & Control training, TPS continues to equip company employees with a comprehensive operational understanding, enabling them to optimally execute service planning and control processes. This competency enhancement is expected to support increasingly productive, safe, and customer-oriented operational performance," he said.
This training is part of TPS's commitment to continuously strengthen human resource quality, support operational transformation, and achieve sustainable service standardization within Pelindo Terminal Petikemas. With competent and adaptable human resources, TPS is optimistic about continuing to contribute to improving the efficiency of the national logistics chain and strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian ports globally.
Pelindo's ongoing implementation of transformation and standardization through Pelindo Terminal Petikemas and TPS has also benefited its service users. "We've seen increased service consistency and improved operational coordination. The standardization we've implemented has made the service process more measurable and predictable, helping us plan our ship's activities more optimally. From the customer's perspective, this continuously improving service reliability significantly supports the shipping company's operational efficiency," Hadi said.
