MAUMERE NTT (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo Regional 3 Maumere continues to operate Ro-Ro and passenger ships following the earthquake, which impacted several port facilities. Although the passenger terminal facilities were damaged, Pelindo adjusted services by shifting activities to the field area to ensure ship operations and public mobility continue, prioritizing safety.
Pelindo Bali Nusra Sub-Regional Head, Fariz Hariyoso, said the service pattern adjustment was a quick step to ensure public connectivity remains maintained amidst post-earthquake conditions.
"Because terminal facilities are affected, we have adjusted our services and shifted them to the field. The Pelindo team continues to work 24/7 to ensure the safe and orderly boarding and disembarkation of passengers and vehicles. This demonstrates our commitment to remain present and provide maximum service to the public, while also continuously monitoring and expediting the recovery of port facilities," said Fariz.
This responsiveness was evident in the ship's service from August 16 to 17, 2026. The entire disembarkation process was completed at 04:13 WITA. The next ship service is scheduled to resume on August 17, 2026, starting at 19:00 WITA.
Pelindo continues to coordinate with the Port Operations Office (KSOP), ship operators, local governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and relevant stakeholders in the recovery process for Maumere Port. Services will be continuously adjusted based on field conditions and safety inspection results, ensuring that port activities can proceed safely, orderly, and sustainably during the post-earthquake recovery period.
