MAKASSAR (ISL News) - PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (PJM) together with the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) are strengthening synergy in developing human resource competencies in the field of scouting through the Education and Training (Diklat) Formation of Scout Level II Batch V in 2026 for TNI AL Officers.
The Opening Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony for the 2026 Class V Scout Formation Training Class II took place at the Pendulum Nusantara Hall of PT Indonesian Maritime and Logistics Education (PMLI) Bogor, Monday (10/8/2026).
Present on the occasion were Rear Admiral TNI Yudi Cahyadi, ST, CHRMP., CFrA as Assistant Personnel to the Chief of Naval Staff (Aspers Kasal), Dr. Muhammad Anto Julianto, SE, M.Si. as Director of Ports of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, PJM Main Commissioner Hermanto, PJM Main Director Arief Hermawan, and PJM Director of Operations and Engineering Warsilan.
The series of events began with the Opening Ceremony of the Level II Scout Formation Training and continued with the Commencement Ceremony for Indonesian Navy Officers participating in the program. The event also included the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Indonesian Navy and PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim as part of strengthening inter-institutional collaboration in developing competencies and supporting port services.
President Director of PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim Arief Hermawan, said that the implementation of the Level II Pilot Training is a strategic step in building human resource competency while strengthening the synergy between PJM and the Indonesian Navy.
"The Level II Pilot Education Program for Indonesian Navy Officers is a concrete example of the synergy between Pelindo and the Indonesian Navy in developing competent, professional, and integrity-driven human resources. We hope that participants will diligently complete the entire training program so that they can contribute to increasingly safe, reliable, and high-quality ship pilotage services, " said Arief.
Arief added that strengthening pilot competency plays a crucial role in supporting the safety, smooth operation, and reliability of ship services in PJM's operational areas.
"For PJM, this collaboration is not just about improving personnel competency, but also part of a long-term investment to strengthen the quality of maritime services. We hope this synergy will continue to grow and benefit port services, particularly in Eastern Indonesia," he added.
A total of eight Indonesian Navy officers were declared to have passed the selection to participate in the Level II Scout Formation Training Batch V in 2026. This program has a strategic meaning in supporting the improvement of the quality of ship pilotage services in the Eastern Indonesia region, this collaboration is directed to support the need for pilotage services, especially in Jayapura, Merauke, Manokwari, Biak, Sorong, Tual, Fakfak, and Timika.
The Level II Pilot Training is organized by PT Pendidikan Maritim dan Logistik Indonesia (PMLI), which has received approval to conduct the Level II Pilot education and training program. The education program adheres to the guidelines for the implementation of education and training for human resources in ship pilotage established by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation.
Through synergy between the Indonesian Navy, PJM, and the Ministry of Transportation, we are committed to continuously supporting the strengthening of human resource competencies in the field of ship pilotage. This step is expected to increase the availability of competent pilotage personnel while also supporting improvements in the safety, reliability, and quality of ship services in PJM's operational areas.
This commitment aligns with Danantara Indonesia's strategic agenda of promoting consistent service and operational reliability to maintain the smooth flow of national logistics. In this context, developing human resource competencies is crucial for delivering professional, reliable, and sustainable maritime services. Cross-institutional synergy through this pilot education program is expected to lay the foundation for improving the quality of ship pilotage services while strengthening PJM's contribution to supporting connectivity and the growth of the national maritime economy.
