PALEMBANG (ISL News) - IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) continues its commitment to sustainability and care for the environment around the operational terminal by distributing 4 (four) garbage carts along with cleaning support equipment at IPC TPK Palembang.
This sanitation facility assistance was handed over directly by the Head of the IPC TPK Palembang Terminal, Adi Saputra Darmansyah, to the Head of Ilir Timur II Village, Mr. H. Wiyanta, S.Pd., M.Sc., and the Heads of the RTs who received the benefits, namely RT 18 RW 02 Kelurahan 5 Ilir, RT 18 RW 01 Kelurahan Lawang Kidul, and RT 19 RW 01 Kelurahan Lawang Kidul. This step is part of the company's real action in encouraging the creation of a clean, healthy, and orderly residential environment.
Senior Manager of the IPC TPK Corporate Secretariat, Daniel Setiawan, said, "This initiative is a form of concern from IPC TPK in facilitating the flow of waste transportation and building collective awareness of the importance of maintaining a clean environment."
The distribution of this aid aligns with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this program supports SDG Point 3 (Healthy and Prosperous Lives) by minimizing the risk of disease caused by waste accumulation, SDG Point 11 (Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements) by creating more livable residential areas, and SDG Point 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) which prioritizes the efficient chain of domestic waste management and sorting.
The initiative also affirms IPC TPK's commitment to supporting the President's national priority agenda of Asta Cita, particularly on Asta Cita point 2 to build the environment at the grassroots level (RT/RW) and Asta Cita point 8 to maintain harmony between life and nature and the environment.
The synergy between the IPC TPK, the village governments, and community leaders in Ilir Timur II, 5 Ilir, and Lawang Kidul ensures that this assistance is well-targeted and highly effective. The newly distributed garbage carts are expected to optimize the daily mobilization of cleaning staff in the field, thus preventing potential pollution and clogged drains in densely populated areas early on. The aid distribution took place at the IPC TPK Palembang Representative Office.
"Hopefully, the assistance provided can be used for cleanliness and benefit the surrounding environment," concluded Daniel.
