BOGOR (ISL News) - PT Pendidikan Maritim dan Logistik Indonesia (PT PMLI) as a level 1 subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and developing competent human resources in the port and maritime sector by holding the Graduation and Inauguration of Level II Scout Officers in the IV batch.


At this inauguration procession, the Director General of Sea Transportation of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Muhammad Masyhud, ST, MT, was present in person to inaugurate 22 Level II Scout Officers who had completed the entire series of education and training at PMLI.


This fourth batch recorded a proud achievement, as many as 21 Pilot Officers joined PT Intan Sejahtera Utama (PT ISMA) to support pilotage operations in the waters of Eastern Indonesia, while 1 (other) graduate was entrusted to join PetroChina to strengthen maritime sector operations.


This extraordinary success cannot be separated from the strategic role built by PMLI during the education and training process, supported by complete facilities such as advanced navigation simulators, adequate classroom facilities, and star-rated housing Pelindo Residence, PMLI continues to prove its commitment in producing adaptive and work-ready maritime officers.


PMLI was chosen as a place for training and education because PMLI has a competitive advantage as the only training institution that holds an official Certificate of Approval (CoA) to organize Scout training outside the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Human Resources Management Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenhub RI).


For almost 3 (three) months, starting from April 6 to July 21, 2026, with a total of 1165 hours of lessons or equivalent to 117 calendar days with a total of 22 participants, the participants underwent intensive education and training 1 which refers to the Decree of the Director General of Sea Transportation Number: KP-DJPL 574 of 2024 as the competency and graduation standard for Pilot Officers. which is divided into three main phases, namely: The first phase is focused on strengthening competencies through learning navigation theory, Maritime English, and pilotage simulations using the FullMission Ship Simulator PMLI with experts from the Ministry of Transportation and senior Pilots. 


In the second phase, the participants underwent ship guiding practice in the Working Area of ​​the Main Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) Tanjung Perak Surabaya and the third phase, was a comprehensive evaluation stage of technical competence, leadership, and professional ethics through the presentation of Individual Working Papers (KKP) presented before the Examining Team consisting of Seniors and the Directorate General of Sea Transportation.


After the inauguration, the officers conducted an interview with PT ISMA which is a series of Recruitment to be able to work under the auspices of PT ISMA. This is a continuation of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT ISMA on March 2, 2026 for the Fulfillment of Pilot Officer Manpower, The success of this Batch IV reflects PMLI's extraordinary commitment in preparing superior maritime human resources and strengthening ongoing efforts in producing Pilot Officers who are ready to meet the needs of the national port industry.
