JAKARTA TANJUNG PRIOK (ISL News) – In commemoration of World Environment Day 2026, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Tanjung Priok is implementing a tree planting program as a manifestation of the company's commitment to supporting environmental conservation and sustainable development.
This activity is a collaboration between Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok and the North Jakarta City Government through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program. A total of 665 productive and shade trees were handed over to the North Jakarta City Government as a form of support for greening efforts and environmental improvement in the North Jakarta area.
The tree species distributed included Glodokan Tiang, Kiara Payung, Mahogany, Yellow Tabebuya, and Rain Tree. There were 133 trees of each species, bringing the total to 665. These trees were selected for their ecological benefits, such as improving air quality, absorbing carbon emissions, reducing ambient temperatures, and strengthening the presence of green open spaces in urban areas.
This tree planting program is a follow-up to the implementation of Pelindo's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program in commemoration of World Environment Day 2026. In addition to being part of the implementation of corporate social responsibility, this activity also reflects Pelindo's commitment to supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the aspects of environmental conservation and action on climate change.
Executive General Manager of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, Yandri Trisaputra, said that the collaboration with the North Jakarta City Administration Government is a form of synergy that is expected to provide real benefits for the community and the environment.
"Environmental preservation is a shared responsibility. Through this tree-planting program, Pelindo aims to contribute to creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable environment, while strengthening synergies with local governments to deliver tangible benefits to the community," he said.
Through this program, Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok hopes to foster a spirit of collaboration in environmental sustainability. Going forward, Pelindo will continue to introduce various CSR programs that provide sustainable benefits to the community and the environment, while also supporting the creation of a greener, more resilient, and environmentally conscious port ecosystem.
