JAKARTA (ISL News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 held a joint prayer and donation for orphans at the Pelindo Regional 2 Building, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/7).
This activity, which is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program, is a form of gratitude for the company's performance achievements in the first semester of 2026, as well as a form of concern for the community and an effort to request safety, security, and smooth port operations in the future.
The program was implemented simultaneously in 12 port branches under the management of Pelindo Regional 2. Through this activity, the company distributed aid to around 300 orphans from the community around the operational area (Ring 1) of the port.
The Tanjung Priok event marked the first joint event between Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok and Pelindo Regional 2 Sunda Kelapa. Fifty orphans from the Nuruzzahroh Foundation and the Gema Amal Soleh Foundation received assistance at the event.
This activity was attended by the Director of Institutional Relations of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), Hendry Ginting, Executive General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok Yandri Trisaputra, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Sunda Kelapa Ahmad Fahmi, management and workers of Pelindo Regional 2, religious leaders, and recipients of compensation.
Opening the event, Executive Director 2 of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2, Budi Prasetio, said that concern for the community is an inseparable part of the company's commitment to running a sustainable port business.
"The port grows alongside the surrounding community. Therefore, we are committed to continuing to provide benefits through various social programs that strengthen the harmonious relationship between the company and its surrounding community. This activity also expresses our gratitude for the company's achievements in the first half of 2026," said Budi.
In addition to the distribution of aid, the event also included a communal prayer led by religious leaders. The prayers were offered as a plea for safety, security, smooth operations, and protection for all workers and port activities within the Pelindo Regional 2 work area.
Budi hopes that this activity will not only bring happiness to the beneficiaries, but also serve as a reminder of the importance of the spirit of sharing and togetherness.
"We hope this donation will encourage these students to continue learning and achieving their dreams. We also ask for prayers for the continued health of all Pelindo employees, and for the safe, smooth, and successful operation of all ports," Budi concluded.
Meanwhile, the representative of the TJSL beneficiaries from the Nuruzzahroh Foundation, H. Sultoni, appreciated the concern of Pelindo Regional 2 which consistently provides attention to orphans and foster children in the area around the port.
"God willing, this provision of benefits will be blessed by Allah SWT. We also pray that all Pelindo employees, especially Pelindo Regional 2, will always be given protection, blessings, and ease in carrying out their mandate," said Sultoni.
Through the TJSL program, Pelindo Regional 2 is committed to continuing to present various activities that provide real benefits to the communities around the port.
In the future, it is hoped that these joint prayers and donations to orphans will become a regular agenda for the company as a form of gratitude, social concern, and joint efforts to support reliable, safe, and sustainable port operations.
