PALEMBANG (ISL News) – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Palembang received an educational visit from participants of the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Expert Certification Program from the Mutiara Mutu Sertifikasi training and certification institution in the context of field learning regarding the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in the operational environment of Boom Baru Port Palembang.
This activity is part of a learning process aimed at providing participants with hands-on experience implementing an OHS management system in the port sector, which has a high level of operational risk. Through this field visit, participants not only gain theoretical understanding but also observe firsthand how a safety culture is implemented in every port operational activity.
Accompanied by the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Team from Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, the participants visited several operational areas, including the Container Terminal Pier, the Non-Container Pier, and other supporting facilities. During the visit, participants received explanations on work safety procedures, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), potential hazard identification, risk management, and the implementation of operational standards in loading and unloading activities.
In addition to conducting field observations, participants also had interactive discussions with the HSSE Team regarding the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3), risk management, emergency preparedness, and Pelindo's efforts to build a work culture that prioritizes safety aspects.
Acting General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang, Darmawi, stated that this activity demonstrates the company's support for improving human resource competency in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (K3), while also strengthening collaboration between industry and education.
