JAMBI (ISL News, June 17, 2026)  – The Jambi Area Container Terminal (IPC TPK) is supporting the smooth export of robusta coffee from Kerinci to Egypt through reliable and integrated container terminal services at the Talang Duku Container Terminal. The shipment of 19.2 tons of green robusta coffee beans is part of an effort to expand international market access for Jambi Province's leading commodity while increasing the competitiveness of local products in the global market.

The shipment of Kerinci Robusta coffee to Egypt comes amid a positive trend in Jambi Province's plantation commodity exports. According to data from the Jambi Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the export value of coffee, tea, and spices increased from US$1.12 million in March 2026 to US$2 million in April 2026. This growth reflects the increasing international market opportunities for the region's leading commodities and demonstrates the increasing competitiveness of Jambi products in the global market.

The export launch was also attended by representatives from Jambi Customs, the Jambi Province Regional Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPD HIPMI), the Sungai Penuh City Branch Executive Board (BPC HIPMI), and several relevant stakeholders. The presence of these various parties demonstrates collaboration in promoting Jambi's leading commodities to become more competitive and reach a wider international market.

Wedhar Tani Aji S, Head of the IPC TPK Terminal for the Jambi Area, stated that the shipment of Kerinci Robusta coffee to Egypt demonstrates that the region's leading commodity has significant potential for growth in the global market if supported by an integrated logistics ecosystem. "The shipment of Kerinci Robusta coffee to Egypt demonstrates that the region's leading commodity is competitive in the global market. We ensure the readiness of terminal and logistics services so that the export process can run smoothly, efficiently, and on time, thus supporting the growth of international trade from Jambi," Wedhar said.

He added that Jambi boasts a variety of superior commodities with the potential for continued export development, including coffee, cinnamon, betel nut, rubber, and various other plantation derivatives. Efficient logistics services are expected to facilitate local products' access to broader international markets.

"In principle, the port is ready to support the growth of exports of Jambi's leading commodities. Beyond coffee, there are many other regional potentials that can be further developed together. This certainly requires collaboration and synergy between the government, business actors, the business community, and all stakeholders so that this potential can provide greater benefits to the regional economy," he added.

As one of the main logistics gateways in Jambi Province, the Talang Duku Container Terminal continues to play a role in supporting the smooth flow of exports and imports. Through integrated port and logistics services, the IPC TPK Jambi Area continuously improves service quality and operational efficiency to provide easier market access for businesses and strengthen Talang Duku Port's role as an export gateway for Jambi's leading commodities to various destination countries.
