SURABAYA (ISL News) – Global shipping companies' trust in PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) has again increased. This was marked by the maiden voyage of the MV Cosco Haifa, which serves the North China – Southeast Asia Express Service. This also reinforces the growth trend of international container traffic at Terminal Teluk Lamong, which by May 2026 had increased by more than 90 percent compared to the same period last year.
The presence of COSCO services connecting major ports in China such as Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Ningbo, and Nansha with Jakarta and Surabaya is evidence of the increasingly strategic role of Teluk Lamong Terminal in the global trade network and supply chain.
The Hong Kong-flagged vessel docked at Teluk Lamong Terminal International Pier on Wednesday (June 3) at 4:30 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Measuring 261 meters long, 32 meters wide, with a displacement of 49,949 tons, and a carrying capacity of 4,250 TEUs, the MV Cosco Haifa is a large-capacity container ship that supports efficient logistics distribution between countries.
On its maiden visit to Teluk Lamong Terminal, MV Cosco Haifa carried out loading and unloading activities of 1,142 TEUs, consisting of 756 TEUs for unloading and 386 TEUs for loading.
The President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, David Pandapotan Sirait, who was present to welcome the arrival of the ship, said that the entry of COSCO services is an indicator of the increasing trust of international shipping companies in the quality of services and operational performance of Terminal Teluk Lamong.
"The launch of COSCO services is a significant milestone for Teluk Lamong Terminal. Besides strengthening trade connectivity between Indonesia and China, this service also reflects the growing confidence of global shipping companies in our operational reliability, productivity, and the quality of our services," said David.
According to David, the growth in international container traffic, exceeding 90 percent by May 2026, demonstrates the increasingly strong position of Teluk Lamong Terminal as one of the international trade gateways in Eastern Indonesia.
"This growth didn't happen by chance. It's the result of improved service quality, operational optimization, and strong collaboration with customers and global shipping companies who continue to entrust their services to Teluk Lamong Terminal," he added.

Meanwhile, Owner Representative of COSCO Shipping Lines Surabaya, Yan Richard Ruiqiang, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration established with Teluk Lamong Terminal and the service performance provided so far.
