BANTEN INDONESIA (ISL News) - PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) Banten Branch continues to demonstrate its commitment to non-container port loading and unloading services by increasing productivity and terminalization of the Dry Bulk and Liquid Bulk Terminal docks at Ciwandan Port, Banten.
Supported by adequate dock facilities, stacking yards, warehouses, and loading and unloading equipment, PTP Non-container Banten Branch continues to strive to improve productivity and service quality through the implementation of operational standardization and digitalization of PTOS-M-based services.
By the first quarter of 2026, productivity performance was clearly visible in general cargo packaging, reaching 2,773 tons/ship/day (T/S/D), reaching 117% of the target for that period. Similarly, dry bulk packaging reached 112% of the first quarter target of 4,975 tons/ship/day.
Branch Manager of PTP Non-container Banten Branch, Andi Purwantoro, said that the smooth running of activities and increased productivity and speed of service in operations are part of the company's efforts to maintain efficient logistics distribution and support the needs of the national industry.
"We continue to ensure the readiness of our facilities, equipment, and operational human resources to ensure optimal, safe, and timely loading and unloading services. Digitalization is also a key milestone in the services the company provides to its customers. Pelindo Group's presence in Banten, particularly the Banten Branch of PTP Non-Container, can support the industrial sector's supply chain and the regional economy," Andi said.
General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Banten, Benny Ariadi, also said that the development of terminalization is a strategic step to provide more focused, integrated, and professional port services according to the characteristics of the commodities served.
Pelindo Regional 2 Banten is an extension entity of Pelindo Head Office as the manager of port activities in the Banten region, assisted by Pelindo Group's subsidiary, PTTanjung Priok Port is a subsidiary of the Pelindo Group which operates in non-container goods services sector. Pelindo Regional 2 Banten itself manages a number of strategic ports in the Banten region such as Ciwandan Port, IKPP, and Bojonegara Port.
Terminalization is being implemented as an effort to provide a more specific and professional service model to increase efficiency, measurability, and transparency in logistics activities. Ciwandan Port currently holds a dedicated liquid bulk terminal permit at Pier 4 and a dedicated dry bulk terminal permit at Pier 2.
"Terminalization is not just an administrative arrangement, but an effort to provide a more specific and professional service model to make logistics activities more efficient, measurable, and transparent. Ciwandan Port currently has a liquid bulk terminal permit and continues to be developed to strengthen Banten's position as a national logistics hub," said Benny.
Pelindo Group continues to encourage the development of terminalization in a number of strategic branches to improve service quality and expand the market share of services, especially non-container services.
In order to support the smooth flow of national logistics through loading and unloading services for various strategic commodities in the Banten region, this week from May 19 to the next few days, the Banten Branch of PTP Nonpetikemas is currently serving the operational activities of four ships handling strategic commodities.
The loading and unloading activities included the MT SUCCESS VICTORY XXXIV, owned by PT Indorama Petrochemicals, at Pier 05A2, carrying paraxylene in liquid bulk. In addition, the KM SARANA LINTAS UTAMA, owned by PT Subur Mega Perkasa, also carried out loading and unloading of corn in dry bulk at Pier 05B.
Furthermore, MV SSI DARING II owned by PT Cerestar Flour Mills carried out loading and unloading of dry bulk packaged wheat commodities at Pier 05C. Meanwhile, operational activities at Pier 07 served TB ANUGRAH 17 – BG SENTOSA JAYA 2307 owned by PT Pilar Anugerah Stevedoring with dry bulk packaged carbon jumbo sack commodities.
During the March homecoming period, Ciwandan Port was again used as a departure and return point for motorcycle travelers, as well as a logistics distribution route, especially for basic food supplies, to ensure smooth supply during the Eid period.
