SURABAYA INDONESIA (ISL News) - As part of its efforts to strengthen the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) culture, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) held the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower's First Aid Training Certification (P3K). The event, in collaboration with PT Nusantara Traisser, took place over three days, May 11–13, 2026, at the PT Terminal Teluk Lamong office.

The training was attended by 17 employees from various field work units, including stevedoring equipment operators, yard talkers, ship talkers, ship operator assistants, and equipment and information technology teams. This step was taken to ensure emergency preparedness is evenly distributed across all port operations.

This first aid training also fulfills the K3 regulations stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number PER.15/MEN/VIII/2008 concerning First Aid for Workplace Accidents. This regulation requires companies to provide first aid personnel with competency and official certification according to the risk level and number of employees within the company.

Unlike basic training, this certification provides participants with a comprehensive curriculum. Participants not only receive theoretical explanations in class but are also required to participate in hands-on practice sessions to ensure their proficiency. The material covered covers human anatomy and physiology, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), chemical exposure management, and emergency response and victim evacuation techniques.

The trainers for this training, Heri Suwarsono and Herin Fikri Naufal, are experienced in occupational safety and emergency response in industrial settings. After completing the training and evaluation, participants will receive an official certificate recognized by the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, recognizing their competency in first aid for workplace accidents.

Syaiful Anam, Corporate Secretary of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, stated that this training demonstrates the company's commitment to strengthening the safety culture within the port environment while supporting TTL's vision of becoming a modern, smart port with international standards. "A safety culture is not only built through systems, but also through the preparedness and competence of each individual in dealing with emergency situations. Through this training, we want to ensure that TTL employees are able to provide proper first aid," he said.

Speed and accuracy in administering first aid are crucial. Heri Suwarsono, the training instructor, explained the importance of participants' commitment to absorbing the practical material. "This training is not just about fulfilling OHS regulations, but also providing basic skills for providing first aid quickly, accurately, and safely in the event of an emergency in the workplace," he emphasized.

Through this training, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong hopes to continue creating a safe, professional, and safety-oriented work environment. Furthermore, the company aims to ensure that all personnel are highly prepared and confident in handling medical emergencies, supporting the company's continued smooth operations.
