CIREBON INDONESIA (ISL News) — PTP Nonpetikemas Cirebon Branch continues to strengthen its role in maintaining the smooth operation of the national logistics supply chain through loading and unloading services for various strategic commodities, one of which is bulk salt imports. This activity is part of the company's efforts to support national supply stability and industrial needs. Supporting this conducive workflow, the company also continues to strengthen environmental controls through the HSSE program to support safe and sustainable port operations.

In an activity carried out at the Cirebon Branch on Tuesday (21/5/2026), PTP Nonpetikemas successfully served the unloading of 14,983 tons of bulk salt imports from Australia using the ship to ship (STS) method, as part of the company's commitment to ensuring efficient, reliable, and sustainable logistics distribution.

This activity is an important part of maintaining the stability of the national salt supply, especially to meet industrial needs and public consumption amid high domestic demand.

The unloading process was carried out by transferring cargo from the MV IPSWICH BAY to the BG Emmery 28 and BG Castbay 3002 with a capacity of approximately 7,500 tons each before being taken to the Cirebon Port pier and sent to the stockpile belonging to PT Niaga Garam Cemerlang.

The Branch Manager of PTP Non-container Cirebon Branch said the STS method is a strategic solution to ensure the distribution of bulk commodities continues to run smoothly and efficiently to support national logistics needs.

"The implementation of loading and unloading using the ship-to-ship method demonstrates our commitment to providing effective, safe, and efficient operational services to support the smooth running of the national logistics supply chain, particularly in the Cirebon area and its surroundings," he said.

As a multipurpose port along the Pantura (North Coast) route in West Java, the Port of Cirebon plays a strategic role in supporting the distribution of various national commodities. In addition to salt, the Cirebon Branch of PTP Non-Container also serves other dry bulk commodities such as coal, sand, cement, gypsum, corn, palm kernel shells, and oil cake. It also handles liquid bulk commodities like asphalt, oiled RBD, CPO, biodiesel, and general cargo such as project cargo and offshore/rig cargo.

The operational performance of the Cirebon Branch of PTP Non-Container also showed a positive trend. As of April 2026, traffic realization reached 1,359,261 tons/m3, a 27.91 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year of 1,062,634 tons/m3. This achievement also exceeded the Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) by 104.27 percent until April 2026, with realization reaching 433,747 tons/m3 in April 2026.

This increase reflects the increasingly strong role of Cirebon Port as a strategic logistics hub that supports industrial activities and the distribution of goods at the national level.

On the other hand, PTP Nonpetikemas Cirebon Branch also continues to strengthen its commitment to HSSE aspects, particularly in strengthening environmental aspects as part of efforts to support the company's operational sustainability and create safe, orderly, and environmentally friendly port activities. One of the programs implemented is the installation of dust-retaining net fences to minimize the impact of dust spread on the surrounding environment, maintain air quality in the port area, and improve operational safety, security, and comfort for workers and the community around the port area.

This step is part of the company's efforts to provide port operations that are not only oriented towards business growth, but also pay attention to environmental sustainability and public comfort.

All operational processes are carried out by prioritizing aspects of occupational safety, shipping security, and compliance with operational and environmental standards through coordination with terminal operators, ship owners, stevedoring workers, and related agencies.

By strengthening operational services and environmental control, PTP Non-container Cirebon Branch is optimistic that it can continue to support the smooth running of national logistics while creating modern, reliable, and competitive port activities.
